One of the benefits of being a millionaire is that you can pass your fortune on to your children. The heirs and heiresses of super-rich celebrities and business people supposedly have “nothing to worry about” when they are old enough to start living on their own. After all, most of the problems we encounter as adults have to do with money. So, when a rich person passes their fortune on the next generation in the family, this could potentially make life easier for everyone involved.

However, there has been a trend these days of heirs and heiresses “earning their keep” and taking over the companies of their famous parents. These days, the world wants to see more work ethic from wealthy people, and don’t take too kindly to the idea that some people are so entitled that they will never know what it truly means to put in a hard day’s work. So, maybe the children of these millionaires and billionaires are simply working to establish a favorable relationship with the public. There are also some rich heirs who are still completely satisfied with not working and reaping the benefits of being wealthy. Want more proof that life isn’t fair? Here are 12 heirs who have ridiculous amounts of money for doing nothing.

12. Sam and Holly Branson

Siblings Sam and Holly Branson are known for socializing with British royalty, and it seems like this is one of their main pastimes. Their father, Richard Branson, is worth around $4.2 billion, and the Branson siblings are set to take over the Virgin Group empire once their dad retires. Branson is considering retirement in the near future, which means that Holly and Sam will have to really get to work. He wants his children to be the new faces of his brand, so it looks like they’ll have to do more than show up at events and look great for photo ops.

11. Marta Ortega-Perez

Marta Ortega-Perez is the daughter of Amancio Ortega, who is the founder of Inditex. The Inditex fashion firm owns the popular retail store Zara. Marta is reportedly being groomed to take over her father’s company when he steps down as CEO. In an attempt to make sure that people don’t see his daughter as entitled, Ortega has reportedly made Marta interact with customers and stock shelves in stores. However, a number of people feel that this is just for show. However, whether we like it or not, Ortega’s $57 billion fortune will one day be his daughter’s. Marta is also an accomplished equestrian, which technically isn’t a job, but at least she’s doing more than partying and drinking every weekend. In 2012, she married fellow equestrian Sergio Alvarez Mova, so this has been keeping her busy as well.

10. The Courtin-Clarins Cousins

The cousins of the Courtin-Clarins line are the gorgeous daughters of Olivier and Christian Courtin-Clarins. Forbes reports that the girls are worth a combined $2.2 billion. Claire, Prisca, Jenna and Virginie will one day take over the popular French cosmetics brand Clarins—a company that is worth almost $4 billion. There’s even talk that Clarins is worth more than that, since the family decided to make the company private in 2008. The cousins often appear as the face of the brand, but being naturally gorgeous and being photographed for magazines and at parties hardly seems like work to most. They also post 'how-to' videos for Clarins products from time to time, which may be a fun way for them to “earn” their share in the company.

9. Vanisha Mittal

Vanisha Mittal is the daughter of Lakshmi Mittal, who is the second richest man in India. When your dad has a net worth of $16.5 billion, there really isn’t an overwhelming need for you to get a job. However, Vanisha did get an education, and received her degree from European Business School. She also has a Master’s Degree from the University of London. While it hasn’t been reported that she officially has a job yet, Vanisha does lots of charitable work, and she headed a project to improve the lives of those living in parts of rural India. Vanisha Mittal also has another reason to delay filling out job applications. She married investment banker Amit Bhatia in 2004.

8. Allegra Versace

Allegra Versace is Donatella Versace’s daughter. When she was just 18, the wealthy heir inherited half of her late uncle, Gianni Versace’s empire. The Versace brand is worth more than $700 million. Allegra is also known for struggling with anorexia, but has since gotten her life on track. These days, we don’t hear much about Allegra, but reportedly, she does provide creative input for the Versace brand, and even if it’s most out of formality, she sits on the Board of Directors. These days, Allegra Versace is living in Milan with her mom, and she’s even gotten an education. She went to both UCLA and Brown, so if she decides to work in another field besides fashion, she’ll be prepared.

7. Peter II and Harry Brant

The Brant brothers, Harry and Peter II, are set to take over their father’s fortune, which is reportedly between $500 million and $1 billion. The boys are also the sons of model Stephanie Seymour, which is where they get their stunning good looks. The Brant boys are known for being in the NYC social spotlight, and Peter II made headlines years ago when he joked about assassinating President Obama on social media. He lost his social media privileges as a result, and his younger brother Harry, took to Twitter to state that he personally “loved” the president. Perhaps it’s time for the boys to focus on being businessmen, since they clearly have too much time on their hands.

6. Athina Onassis

Athina Onassis is the daughter of Greek shipping leader Aristotle Onassis. She is the only surviving heir of her father, and when she turned 18, she officially took over half of his fortune. The other half of Onassis’ money went to the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. The media hasn’t been able to find out exactly how much Athina is worth, which likely means that her fortune is pretty huge. The younger Onassis has enjoyed an accomplished equestrian career, which means she’s made money doing something she loves—a dream many hope to achieve one day. We haven’t heard much from her these days, but we do know that she married a Brazilian show jumper named Alvaro de Miranda Neto.

5. Ariana and Camilla Rockefeller

When your last name is Rockefeller, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you’re going to be rich for the rest of your life. David Rockefeller Jr.’s daughters Ariana and Camilla, are the latest generation to be at the forefront of the media, and their elders are expecting them to do great things with the family’s huge fortune. The sisters are socialites and have dabbled in acting and modeling. But let’s be honest—they really don’t ever have to work again. David Rockefeller Jr. even spoke highly of his daughter's motivation and work ethic at her 2010 wedding, saying that people aren’t “always lucky enough to follow our passion…but when we are, what a wonderful thing.” How sweet.

4. Paris and Nicky Hilton

Back in the day before Kim Kardashian was mentioned in virtually every news outlet, she was partying with Paris and Nicky Hilton. Now the Hilton sisters, who are the great grand-daughters of Conrad Hilton don’t get much press, but there was a time when they were in the center of the spotlight. Nicky tried her hand at a fashion line, and Paris came out with fragrances and accessories. Even though they may not seem to be doing much these days, it’s reported that Paris and Nicky have pretty good business senses. Even though their grandfather gave away a significant portion of the family fortune to charity, the Hiltons are still pretty rich, and are probably not in a huge hurry to work again.

3. Amanda Hearst

Amanda is the heiress to the Hearst Corporation, which is a multi-billion dollar empire. Hearst’s great grandfather is often seen as the man who created what we now know as tabloid journalism; ironically, we don’t hear much about Amanda in the media. While it hasn’t been reported that she technically has a job, Amanda is a graduate of Fordham University and majored in art history. Harper’s Bazaar reported that Amanda is spending about $136,000 on herself every year (because she can), but Hearst has denied this. In addition to being rich by birth, Amanda Hearst has been a model and is a spokesperson for the ethical fashion line Maison de Mode. She also started a charity organization called Friends of Finn, which focuses on closing puppy mills.

2. Paris Latsis

If this name sounds familiar, it’s probably because you remember when Paris Latsis and Paris Hilton were a couple for a little while. The pair were even engaged! Latsis is the heir to a Greek shipping empire, but he’s mostly known for being a socialite and getting paid to show up at clubs and get drunk all night. His family is successful in the oil and real estate industries, and he’s got a fortune of about $7.5 billion coming to him. It may be a good idea for Latsis to learn how to do something other than be charming and order bottles of champagne. He’s in his 30s now, so the whole “spoiled rich brat” thing is getting pretty old.

1. Jennifer, Rory and Phoebe Gates

The children of Bill and Melinda Gates will have a fortune of around $66 billion handed down to them. Chances are that by the time Jennifer, Rory and Phoebe are old enough to take over their dad’s fortune, Microsoft could be worth much more. However, reports say that Bill Gates is granting around $10 million for each of his children. This is a pretty small sum compared to what other moguls are leaving their children. The Gates also say that they have “regular rules” for their children, like not getting a cell phone until the age of 13. The Gates children are too young to work right now, but there’s a chance they will have a decent attitude about getting a job when they become of age.
