Ever think of how cool it would be to be a celebrity assistant? Well, me neither, honestly, but play along just for a minute. Think how cool it would be to be hanging out with one of your idols, someone that was rich and famous, that you could accompany to all sorts of events. I mean sure you would be attending the events as a servant, but still, you get the gist.
Even if you do think this is cool, the reality of the whole situation is much different. Often times being an assistant is kind of degrading. But still, it can't be that bad, right? Well, if you are working for a celebrity that is not a psycho it might be okay, but sadly that is not always the case. Some celebrities are actually abusive to their staff and treat them horribly. The abuse can be verbal, emotional, or even physical. How bad can it get, you ask?
Well, you will have to read on to find out, because the way that some of these celebrities treat their staff is horrible, and in some cases it goes so far as to even be criminal. Here is our list of 15 celebrities that treat their assistants horribly. I hope you enjoy it more than these poor people enjoyed their jobs.
15. Lady Gaga
Jennifer O'Neill, who was Gaga's assistant, brought a lawsuit against her in 2013 for unpaid overtime wages. Since Gaga is so classy she said at the time "Jennifer is a f***ing hood rat who is suing me for money that she didn't earn." O'Neill said she was on call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and sometimes she even had to sleep in the same bed with her, so she could attend to all her needs. Is that hot or gross? I can't even tell anymore myself.
14. Jennifer Lopez
Want to work for J-Lo? Nah... you don't according to what she's looking for in a new employee. "The person has to be graceful under pressure, have thick skin, and be resourceful in foreign countries. You'll be on call 24/7... You have to change diapers, work on little sleep, and cook if the butler is away. You have to know when J.Lo has her snack time. She won't say she's hungry, and you're expected to have food waiting." When J.Lo has her snack time? Uhhh, no thanks. I'll take my chances as a preschool assistant.
13. Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has proven herself to be pretty horrible at life, so is there any reason she would be a good boss? Ummm, no. She once kicked her personal assistant out of her car, right after he bailed her out of jail, and not only that, she also tried to blame a car accident on him. She lied and said he was driving it when she crashed. What a tool, right? Those things don't even work if you are still a big star, not one who is on the way down, and Lohan has been on that particular slide forever now.
12. Taryn Manning
Ever had a job where you got in a fight with your boss and he or she just started beating you up? Me neither, but I never worked for Taryn Manning. She and her assistant were working late and apparently got into some sort of argument which got physical. Taryn was charged with misdemeanor assault after punching and choking her personal assistant Holliann Hartman. Charges were not pressed as Hartman decided not to pursue the case.
11. Courtney Love
Courtney got sued by her assistant Jessica Labrie for all sorts of reasons, including that she "acted with an improper and evil motive amounting to malice or despicable conduct," that Labrie was asked to do illegal things and had to work over 6o hours a week for no overtime pay. This one is a real head scratcher? Who would have ever thought that Courtney Love might be a bad boss and bad to work for? I mean, she seems like such an all-around awesome person.
10. Sharon Stone
Sharon has long been known as a total B to her staff and employees. One time she had an assistant who was told by doctors that she needed to take some bed rest. Stone made her come to work anyway. Four months later the employee was still in pain and Stone called her "crazy and stupid." Well, for what it is worth, there is only one person in this situation acting crazy and stupid, and it is not the employee. I would rather flip burgers than work for Sharon Stone.
9. Naomi Campbell
Naomi is one celebrity that takes it up a notch. She actually pled guilty in 2000 for beating an assistant, and in 2001 she allegedly threw a phone at another assistant and "grabbed her by the arms and threw her down on a couch." So cool Naomi. Nice to know the fame did not go to your head at all. So if you see an ad on Craigslist for a "former supermodel looking for a part time assistant," run, don't walk away from the computer. Trust me on this one.
8. Katherine Heigl
According to sources, Katherine was a total diva on the set of 27 Dresses. "Heigl reportedly refused to film any scenes until her pregnant assistant ran around and got her a Coke Zero. She refused to eat lunch next to anyone or have anyone speak to her once the cameras stopped rolling." Yeah Katherine, freaking out about a Coke Zero is not a good look even if you are in middle school, let alone a big star on set. Come on. Pull it together, I mean, just a little even!
7. Christian Bale
According to his assistant “If Christian was away filming on location, I would take care of his five pets, along with stray possums in the backyard as a special request. I would do anything from sniffing Christian’s armpits for B.O. right before he hit the red carpet to making emergency sock-runs if Christian was all out of clean ones. Sometimes duties were as exciting as traveling to film festivals and as dull as watching Christian surf in case something needed to be done onshore.” Wow, Christian sounds sooo cool.
6. Martha Stewart
Martha is the kind of lady that obviously needs a lot of assistants. How many assistants? Well, at one point she had nine. She is known to send an assistant, on a whim, to India just to buy some fabric. While this does not necessarily qualify her as a horrible boss in some ways, it does qualify her as being kind of clueless and more than a bit spoiled. But hey, this is Martha Stewart we are talking about- I think the word 'spoiled' might actually be her middle name.
5. Keri Hilson
Keri is known as a diva, but this is a bit over the top, even for her. Following a performance she totally flipped out and told her assistant that she could not do anything right, and forgot to bring such important things like her throat spray? Really Keri? First of all, if your assistant could do things right, why would she be working for someone like you in the first place? No real reason that I can think of. So she might have a point there.

Well, as most of us know, Paris used to have Kim Kardashian to clean her closet, so you can imagine what she is like when she actually has someone that she pays to treat badly. Well, she certainly does not like to carry much. "Looking polished in a pretty chiffon tea dress and coordinating cream handbag and heels, Paris strolled from car to studio - while her companion emerged from the same vehicle laden with bags and Halloween costumes." Good old Paris, always just so spoiled, which makes her kind of hot, but not really.

Now Beyonce is a diva, there is no doubt about that, so we can forgive her a little bit anyway. At one point she was on the red carpet while her assistant was trying to fix her dress; Beyonce just told her to stop it, and the assistant scurried away. Not that mean compared to a lot of these celebrities, but it still shows a kind of master and servant vibe that is going on. But again, she is a diva, and not that mean it seems, so we give her a pass.
2. Ricki Lake
When Ricki was pregnant, her assistant watched her give birth in a bathtub. Ricki says "to this day my assistant talks about how she had to clean up my bathtub afterward.” Well, Ricki, I have to say that seeing you give birth in the bath tub would scar me for life. In fact, I have to say that almost no amount of money would make me watch Ricki give birth in a bathtub. I think I might need some therapy just for even thinking about such a thing, to be honest.

The Curb Your Enthusiasm star has her assistant clean out poop. She said "I had to ask my assistant to clean out every cage. By the way, it’s not easy to handle a hedgehog. They are prickly and there’s a lot of poop involved. Maybe if I wasn’t working I’d do it but I don’t think so. I’d rather work at 7/11 and hire someone to clean hedgehog poop.
