The wrestling business has seen a number of famous families step through that curtain over the past few decades and it seems that it's a trend that will only continue in the coming years. Many current and former WWE superstars could be set to help their children follow in their footsteps.
The likes of Randy Orton, Natalya and even Charlotte have proven throughout the course of their career that wrestling really is something that is passed down in your DNA. While there are a number of wrestling children who have already stated that they wouldn't want to follow in their parent's footsteps, it seems that there are many who are looking to make their mark in the business in the future.
Coming from a wrestling family gives you something of an advantage when it comes to gaining a contract with WWE, which could be why so many famous children have attempted to make their way through the ranks in the company in recent years. It doesn't give stars that much of an advantage since Natalya had to fight for her place, but it is sometimes more about who you know than what you know.
The following list looks at 15 wrestling children who we will definitely be seeing as part of WrestleMania in the years to come. When their parents are long gone and will only be remembered as names in the WWE Hall of Fame these kids will ensure that their family legacy will continue in the wrestling business.
Joelle Anoa'i – Roman Reigns
Unlike many of the children on this list, Joelle has already made a number of appearances on WWE TV, even though her father wasn't exactly happy about it and did everything he could to ensure that she wasn't used as part of a storyline again. Joelle is 10 years old this year and she comes from a family of wrestlers, which includes her father Roman Reigns, The Usos, Rikishi and even The Rock.
It seems that even though Roman has done everything to keep Joelle away from the wrestling business over the past few years, she will probably decide to see what it is her father has been doing for the best part of her life. Joelle will only be the second female to make it to WWE from the Anoa'i family after Nia Jax, but it seems that judging by the rest of the children on this list, she will be in good company in the future.
Brock Hennig – Curtis Axel
Curtis Axel knows all about the pressure of having to follow in his father's footsteps after making it to WWE and then it became well-known that he is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mr Perfect. Following someone that "Perfect" can't have been easy for Curtis, which could be why he isn't pressuring his sons to follow in his footsteps.
Axel has three sons but it seems that his oldest son Brock who was born back in 2009 is the one most likely to follow in his father's footsteps. With a name like that it is quite obvious that he was named after a professional wrestler and given that he is from a family of professional wrestlers, it was always going to reach the point where Axel's children made the decision as to whether or not they wanted to pursue a career in the same field as their father.
Milaneta Snuka – Tamina Snuka
It will perhaps come as a shock to many members of the WWE Universe to find out that Tamina Snuka is, in fact, a mother. She has two daughters called Milaneta and Maleata and it seems almost obvious that at some point her daughters will want to follow in their mother's footsteps.
Even though her career has meant that she has been absent for many of the big moments in their lives, they will have seen her make history a number of times along with the women in the division recently and it would be hard for them to not see that as inspirational. They would also be third generation professional wrestlers after Jimmy Snuka began the family trend a few years ago, so it seems that wrestling is definitely in their blood. Tamina is also related to the Anoa'i family by marriage, so it seems that they would definitely be in good company in WWE.
Maximus Fisico – Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus is one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time and ever since she left WWE back in 2006 she has continued to pursue a career in fitness and even opened her own Yoga Studio. Trish also became a mother and now has two children with her oldest son Max just turning four years old.
Trish is the kind of mother who will definitely teach her son all about the fitness industry and it's quite likely that when he sees tapes of just how good his mother once was then he will want to pursue the same kind of career as well. Trish was a role model for many women when it comes to their careers, so it would be a fantastic story if she became one for her own son if he decided to pursue the same kind of career. Trish announced that she was pregnant with Maximus at the Hall of Fame ceremony back in 2013, so it seems that Max already has experience on stage.
Brodie – Luke Harper
Brodie is the oldest son of WWE star Luke Harper and it seems that Luke definitely was thinking of the wrestling business when he named his son since he gave him his old Independent name Brodie. Harper dropped the name when he came to WWE but he has shown exactly why WWE saw so much potential in him over the past few years and if wrestling skill is passed in DNA then Brodie will definitely be following in his father's footsteps in the future since Luke himself possesses his own set of unique skills.
Harper now has two sons but it seems that Brodie has already proved that he's photogenic and that he loves the camera so he could be the ideal candidate to come through the ranks in WWE in the future. His father would even be able to show him the ropes, which would be quite the bonding experience.
Maxel Hardy – Matt Hardy
Maxel Hardy is the oldest son of Matt Hardy and Reby Sky and it seems that even at his young age he is already relatively well-known in the wrestling world. King Maxel was an integral part of the reason that Broken Matt Hardy was such a success and there has even been talk of Maxel and Reby joining Matt in WWE to help his character to have much more depth.
It seems that this could be a career that Maxel himself would like to pursue in the future. After all, his mother and father are both in the business and his uncle Jeff is one of the most popular WWE stars of all time so it's not like Maxel will be in bad company. Of course, he will be the first second-generation Hardy to step in the ring, but that would only make it much sweeter for his mother and father.
Ash Edward Irvine – Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho may be the self-proclaimed Best in the World, but over the past few years, it seems that he has proven that he definitely could be one of the best wrestlers of the current generation. Jericho splits his time between wrestling, touring with his band Fozzy, and spending time with his family and seems to be quite a hands-on father.
His only son Ash has made a number of appearances on his Talk Is Jericho podcast and has proved that he is someone who's an expert when it comes to fish. Even though Jericho has been quite outspoken about the fact that he doesn't want any of his children following in his footsteps and pursuing a career in wrestling, it seems that if any of his kids did want to become wrestlers, then Jericho would definitely do everything he could to help because that's the kind of father that he is.
Anthony Kessler – Randy Orton's Stepson
Randy Orton doesn't have any sons of his own, but he does have two daughters which he is quite obviously devoted to. It seems that ever since Orton married his second wife Kim Marie Kessler and he took her three sons under his wing, he has shown that he has a favourite.
Anthony is Orton's youngest stepson and The Viper has shared a number of videos of him and the youngster playing around and doing wrestling moves on each other. It seems that Anthony already knows how to bump and in a few years he will definitely be old enough to decide whether or not he wants to pursue a career in the sport that Orton has become a legend as part of. Orton will have stepped away from the sport at this point, so he would definitely be on hand to push Anthony to become one of the top stars of the next generation.
Owen Steen – Kevin Owens
Ever since Kevin Owens came to WWE, he has talked about his son Owen and how much of a huge fan he is of John Cena. It seems that Owen was named after Owen Hart and this has allowed him to express his love of the business over the past few years.
Kevin is very protective of his son but he often shares videos of him online that show that he is just as supportive of his dad as he is any other wrestler in WWE. Maybe Owen's love of wrestling will lead to him deciding to follow in his famous father's footsteps in the future and becoming a WWE star in his own right. It is unknown what career Owen wants to pursue, but it seems that his father is so supportive of him that he would do everything in his power to make his son's dreams come true.
Aurora Rose Levesque – Stephanie McMahon And Triple H
Stephanie McMahon has been part of the wrestling business for her entire life, so it's easy to see why she wouldn't want her children to be part of WWE and follow in her footsteps. Despite this, Steph has talked openly about the fact that her oldest daughter Aurora wants to be part of WWE one day.
Steph shares Instagram videos online that show that her daughters often hit the gym with her so it seems that they know how to work out. Since Aurora is now only 11 years old, her mother could definitely teach her the ropes since she is a former Women's Champion. Triple H will one day take over his father-in-law Vince McMahon's company so it seems that by the time she was ready to start training, she would have her protective father there to support her and continue to help her if she really wanted to pursue this as a career.
Mya Lynn Lesnar – Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar and his wife Sable have two sons together called Duke and Turk, but incredibly it seems that it's actually Brock's daughter from a previous relationship with a woman called Nicole McClain before he met Sable that looks as though she is the most likely of his children to follow in his footsteps.
Mya has already become quite the athlete and is a huge fan of sports so it would make sense for her to decide to pursue a career in wrestling when she's much older. If her father helps her then she will definitely be able to make it into the WWE since Brock can do no wrong and WWE doesn't actually know how to say no to him. Mya looks like she would be just as dominant on the WWE roster as her father as long as WWE booked her right, which would definitely be an interesting change of pace.
Baby Miz – The Miz And Maryse
The Miz and Maryse announced last year that they were expecting their first child, this is the main reason why Maryse has been off WWE TV for the past few months since it's not the best environment for a pregnant woman. Maryse's daughter is due around the same time as this year's WrestleMania, which has left The Miz in a little bit of a pickle, but it proves that she already knows what the best time of year is.
Many members of the WWE Universe have already commented on the possibility of Miz and Daniel Bryan's daughter's to meet in a WWE ring in the future and it seems that in just under two decades we could be witnessing the first match between these two-second generation superstars, which is pretty incredible to think about. If their chemistry is anything like their fathers then they will only do great things for the business.
Noelle Foley – Mick Foley
Noelle Foley is the only daughter of Mick Foley and his wife Collette and is the only member of The Hardcore Legend's family who has expressed an interest in following in her father's footsteps. It seems that her brother Dewey has been working for WWE as a member of the creative team for a number of years.
As part of the WWE Network show Holey Foley, Noelle was shown being put through her paces by the trainers who work in WWE's Performance Centre, but she wasn't able to pass her tryout to make it into the company. The trainers did tell her to come back in the future and since she already has quite a personality, it seems that Noelle could come into WWE as something other than a wrestler. It was once rumoured that she would be part of the broadcast team, so perhaps that could still happen in the future.
Dominic – Rey Mysterio
Dominic isn't a stranger to the WWE Universe since he was once featured in a storyline alongside his father Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero when the duo were battling for custody of the youngest back in 2005. This later led to a match between Mysterio and Guerrero at SummerSlam that year where Rey won and was able to keep his son.
Over the past few years, Dominic has expressed an interest in the pro wrestling world and began training to follow in his father's footsteps last year at a training school in San Diego. Rey has also been helping his son to pursue a career in professional wrestling but since he has only been actively pursuing it for a year, it could be a while before he is seen on the bigger shows. It will be interesting to see if Dominic manages to make it to WWE just like his father in the future or if his career takes a different path.
Birdie Joe – Daniel Bryan And Brie Bella
Birdie Joe has been a star ever since she was born. The first child of former World Champion Daniel Bryan and his wife Brie Bella is destined to follow in her parent's footsteps. The couple shared a video of their daughter, who isn't even a year old yet, in her first wrestling ring as part of The Rumble Rumble last weekend when she was shown crawling in the practice ring that many of the WWE superstars used before the history-making show.
Birdie is someone that many of the WWE Universe are looking forward to seeing dominate the Women's Division in the years to come and becoming the first second-generation member of the Bella family. With Nikki Bella as her aunt, John Cena as her uncle and John Laurinaitis as her granddad, it seems that Birdie Joe definitely has a bright future ahead of her in the wrestling business.
