When it comes to some of the greatest athletes in the world, we all know their wives and girlfriends usually end up making out big. The athletes typically make great money in their job, so it is no shock that the women in their lives do not work and stay home. This is not uncommon, and most feel that it's understandable. Many athletes are involved with celebrity women. Whether they are involved in music, acting, or modelling....they often are known more than the man they are with. Why is this a big deal?
Due to the fame they hold, they are usually going to end up making more money than the man they're dating or married to. While some celebrity women do not make more than their man, you would be surprised to find that many actually do. Sometimes celeb couples do not work out, and at times it is due to the fact the woman makes more. Other times, the men are perfectly fine with it. Brooklyn Decker (married to Andy Roddick)
Andy Roddick might be known as a pretty good tennis player, having won 9 Grand Slams in his career, but he's got a bigger prize. While all the trophies and money might have been excellent in his career, he's married to the beautiful Brooklyn Decker. When the two met, Brooklyn was mostly modelling. She had appeared in commercials or catalogs as well as magazines like Sports Illustrated. The two would get married in 2009 and have been that way since.
However, a couple years after their marriage Brooklyn had an interest in acting. She would manage to get some big roles, one including having her appear alongside Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Just Go With It. From there she would have roles in movies like What To Expect When You're Expecting, and Battleship. While she started off her movie career pretty hot, it sort of fizzled down after 2012, which would see her end up in television.
She appeared as a main cast member on Friends with better Lives, and now appears as a series regular on Grace and Frankie. This is on top of being a mother and doing commercials and some modelling off and on. Overall, her husband Andy has made a little over $20 million playing tennis. Meanwhile Decker from modelling to acting has pulled in far more career earnings, and likely could continue to rack up money as Andy starts to fizzle down in his tennis career.
Ingrid Vandebosch (married to Jeff Gordon)
Jeff Gordon was known as one of the best NASCAR drivers in his time. He was wildly popular, and though he did not win as much as others, he remained immensely popular. Though do not assume Jeff did not win some. Gordon was quite a well-known driver because of the wins early in his career. As he aged, he would still do well but not as much as other better drivers would. All in all, his driving career did net him some good cash. He would technically retire in 2015 but would make a return to the world in 2016. He has remained a part-time competitive driver, but NASCAR is likely never going to see him full-time again.
Meanwhile, his wife Ingrid Vandebosch was a well-known model during her top tier period. From Belgium, she would do local material before getting a chance at bigger modelling opportunities. She would do campaigns for Christian Dior perfume and go on to take part in several magazines. Top ones like ELLE, Marie Claire, Vogue, and Glamour made her model list. She would even take part in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. If that was not enough, she would become the face of a cosmetic like named Artistry. She was not done, as she would also have a small role in the movie Taxi in 2004.
Did you assume she was finished? Oh no. She would also appear in Stuff Magazine, and discussed her lingerie line. Erin Andrews (married to Jarret Stoll)
Jarret Stoll was known for his time as a hockey player with multiple NHL teams, being the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and Minnesota Wild. He was also able to win the Stanley Cup twice during his career. Stoll played Center, and had 144 goals in the regular season, and 10 in the playoffs. His career might not be considered noteworthy by some, but to others this kind of a career is considered amazing and top tier. Stoll never made it to the high-end players, who were immensely popular and made millions more than the rest of the league sadly. He would retire as of the end of the 2016 season.
Meanwhile, he is married to broadcaster Erin Andrews. She is most known around the world for the private peephole video scandal a number of years ago. However, she is a tremendous broadcaster who has worked for ESPN as one of their major stars. Erin would work with ESPN from 2004-2012, having worked on shows like College Gameday and even SportsCenter. However, when FOX Sports wanted to bring their sports broadcasting up a notch they would steal a number of ESPN personalities, Andrews being among them.
She would depart ESPN in 2012 and work for a small time as a Good Morning America correspondent and appear on the show Dancing with the Stars. She would become one of their most well-known celebrity dancers and was brought back as a broadcaster for the show where she has spent time ever since, along with her duties at FOX where she continues to be one of their top personalities. Overall, Andrews' career is far ahead of Jarret's and he never even came close to what she makes, even at the height of his best period in the NHL.
Paulina Gretzky (married to Dustin Johnson)
Dustin Johnson can be called one of the best golfers of this era without any doubt. Most see the writing on the wall, in that Johnson will be one of the top golfers for a very long time. He was PGA Player of the Year in 2016, and usually always seems to end up as one of the better finishers in most tournaments he takes part in. Clearly, he is one of the future top men of golf, but currently he may not be the biggest name in his own household. Dustin is married to Paulina Gretzky, you saw that last name right, Gretzsky.
Paulina is the daughter of likely the greatest hockey player of all-time, Wayne Gretzky. Wayne married quite well, having married beautiful actress Janet Jones. Paulina would naturally possess her mother's gorgeous looks with some athletic ability from her father. Due to the way she looked as well as her parents, Paulina would end up in the public eye pretty easily. This allowed her to get her music out to the world, where she had some minor success. Seeing one of her songs end up as the theme for MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
She would get involved with modelling, where she had the opportunity to be part of Golf Digest, and even ended up on the cover of Flare. She has even had the opportunity to act some, appearing in movies like Grown Ups 2. She has not managed to get as many opportunities lately, but her career earnings and clear family stature has allowed her to remain highly connected and quite wealthy. Dustin Johnson will certainly pass his wife's earnings relatively soon. But for now, it is hilarious to see him behind. Just like the Master's.
Shakira (married to Gerard Pique)
When you talk about being on the right teams at the right time, Gerard Pique comes to mind. He is a professional soccer player who currently starts at the CB position with FC Barcelona. Obviously being on one of the most popular teams in the world is huge, but being on a popular team that is successful is clearly a tremendous situation. He gets paid quite well by the team, $5.8 million Euro to be exact. That is a little over $7 million dollars, in case you were wondering. He has been blessed to be on such a great team, which is why he can say he's been on two Champions Cup winning teams. Due to playing with the Spain team, he also was part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup team.
While all of this could make someone like Gerard a happy man, the 31-year-old soccer defensemen is married to well-known singer Shakira. Clearly the two have the Spanish connection, but that is where their careers certainly stop. Shakira is an actress and singer that is currently known for her roles as a coach on The Voice, as well as her hit songs like "Hips Don't Lie." Awards wise, she is one of the top women of her era.
She has 3 Grammy Awards, 12 Latin Grammy Awards, 7 Billboard Music Awards, and 33 Latin Billboard Music Awards. She has also been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Motley Fool valued her current net worth at $220 Million, which dwarfs the salary both now and career combined sum of her husband Gerard Pique. Clearly selling 125 Million records helps there.
Olivia Munn (ex-girlfriend to Aaron Rodgers)
Is it cheating to bring up a recently separated couple? Perhaps...but we're cool with it if you are (you get to see a pretty girl). Aaron Rodgers is considered by many to be the best quarterback in the NFL as far as skill goes. While hurt last year, Rodgers has been a proven top QB in the league for years now. He sat behind legendary, Hall of Fame QB Bret Favre when he first arrived to the league and was picked pretty late in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. However, he made the most of it. He would lead the Green Bay Packers to their first Super Bowl in 14 years when he took them to Super Bowl XLV. The first, of course, since Favre did it in 1996.
While Rodgers has been a 6-time Pro-Bowler and 2-time NFL MVP, one thing is factual. Aaron Rodgers is vastly underpaid. Interestingly, the Green Bay Packers are the only NFL team owned by the city they are in. Literally, the taxpayers pay the salary of the players and management. Due to this, Rodgers likely has not seen a high contract compared to other QBs. He did sign a 5-year $110 million dollar deal a few years ago. However, while Rodgers may have made a lot...his former girlfriend is racking up the high-paying gigs. Munn was known mostly for her role on Attack of the Show on G4.
When that went down, she would get involved in TV shows like The Daily Show, Perfect Couples, and New Girl. Meanwhile, her movie opportunities grew as she fit in so many ways for multiple parts across a lot of platforms. This allowed her to be in Ride Along 2, Zoolander 2, and Office Christmas Party. She would then get involved with the superhero world, as she took on the role of Psyclocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. Due to her role in all of this, she was brought in to be part of the new Predator franchise and will reprise her Psylocke role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. On top of that, she will be in the all-female Oceans remake, Oceans 8. She has clearly surpassed Rodgers monetarily and may stay there.
Sam Steele-Ponder (married to Christian Ponder)
Christian Ponder from 2009 to 2011 was considered a pretty big threat at quarterback when he played in college, for Florida State University. The Seminole QB took the team to decent records, and was even a Heisman Trophy candidate in the 2010 season. He would have some small injuries, but nothing that threw scouts off. This would land him with the Minnesota Vikings, as they would draft in 12th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. Sadly, Ponder was never truly able to be successful in the NFL. This led to his career being short-lived. He did not fall too far behind, however.
Ponder would get an MBA in Finance at FSU before going to the NFL. He is now studying for his second degree in sports management. However, Ponder might have done well for himself and is doing fine now but his wife Samantha is the true star of the family. Sam started off as a mere reporter, and then managed to go pretty far in her career. You may even think of her when you hear the name "Ponder" these days.
Sam Steele, better known as Sam Ponder, is a broadcaster now with ESPN who has been with the world wide leader in sports since 2011. She would replace Erin Andrews on College Gameday pretty soon into her career. She would be part of a lot of side-line action during her work with the show, and as part of the ABC Game of the Week. She became so popular with the network and fans, and the first hour of Gameday would be given to her to host on the ESPNU network. She replaced Chris Berman last year as the host of ESPN NFL Countdown, where she has remained since.
Hayden Panettiere (married to Wladimir Klitschko)
When you want to talk about top tier fighters, there are very few who can compared to Wladimit Klitschko. Out of 69 total boxing matches, he won 64 of them. Talk about successful. Oh and he did 53 of them by knockout. He is one of the most decorated heavyweight boxers in history, having won the IBO, IBF, WBO, and WBA (Super) championships. He was also a lineal champion, which means he was considered the best in his division, undisputedly. This due to his impressive wins over top tier fighters others considered the best, combined with his titles. His highest selling fight was in April of 2017, where he and Anthony Joshua attained 1,200,000 PPV buys. Sadly in a loss for Klitschko.
Apparently heavyweight boxers attract celebrity actresses, especially someone like Hayden Panettiere. Hayden has been acting since she was a little girl, and this child actress continued to shine as she grew up. As a child star, she took part in movies like Remember the Titans, A Bug's Life, Joe Somebody, Raising Helen, Racing Stripes, Dinosaur, Tiger Cruise, and Ice Princess. As a teen and young adult, she would appear in multiple other movies and television projects. She is most known for movies at this point of her career like Bring it On: All or Nothing, I Love You Beth Cooper, and Scream 4.
Never one to leave behind a job opportunity, Hayden also had several television appearances as well. As a child star she was on Guiding Light, Touched by an Angel, and Malcolm in the Middle. As she got older, she would become the star of the show Heroes. She would also take part in numerous episodes of Punk'd. She is now the star of the TV show Nashville, where she has been since 2012. While Klitschko made a lot of money in his boxing time, Hayden is far ahead. Plus, at 28 her career is only going to become much bigger, whereas the 41-year-old Klitschko is pretty much retired from his profession.
Abigail Clancy (married to Peter Crouch)
Peter Crouch is a professional soccer player, currently playing for Stoke City, where he has been since 2011. The Englishman plays striker for the team and as a Premier League player, he certainly holds his own. His has 142 goals in his professional career, ranking up among the better strikers of his time. Especially in the league he resides. While Crouch is not among the highest paid at his position, he does have a good annual salary. Since he has taken on the striking duties with Stoke City, he has made a little over $13 million. Which is pretty good for the average soccer player, especially in the Premier League.
However, his wife is certainly going to rank above him in many ways. Abigail Clancy, also known as Abbey Clancy, is a lingerie and catwalk model. The English model came in second place on Britain's Next Top Model in 2006, and since 2015 she has been the host of the show. She has also shown some other abilities, especially in dance. She would be the season 11 champion of the dancing show Strictly Come Dancing. Her modelling career has certainly been terrific for her as well, even outside of the televised material.
She would be part of the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, and she was part of the Umbro sportswear campaign in 2010 as well. In 2011, she would take on the cover of UK Esquire Magazine, and in 2013 she would model in LOVE Magazine. 2015 was a big year as well, as she would appear in the British Marie Clair Magazine and the British Elle Magazine. All in all, Abbey is certainly racking up the cash and her husband is watching it. Peter career at 37 is near done, but his wife will surely keep bringing in high revenue.
Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett (married to Hank Baskett)
Hank Baskett is a former pro-football player. Who played for 3 different NFL teams, with his most prominent stint being with the Philadelphia Eagles. While he was not considered a terrible player, he never realized his potential in the NFL and would pretty much be out of the league after 2010. While he became an unrestricted free agent, and it is likely he would still play if asked, he has not been. Hank did not technically do well in his chosen sport, but he did find a new home in reality television alongside his wife, Kendra.
Kendra Wilkinson has been on reality television since 2005, when she appeared on Girls Next Door. The show was about Hue Hefner and his three girlfriends, one of course being Kendra. While it was an odd relationship, it did pay off for the girls as all three did make it inside the Playboy Magazine together. The series would end around the same time each of the women wanted to live a normal life, ya know, not in a relationship with an 80-year-old. It would result in E! and other networks wanting Kendra, which resulted in her own reality show called Kendra on Top. The tv show has been on since 2012.
She would appear in other reality television shows like Wife Swap, UK version of I'm A Celebrity....Get Me Out Of Here!, Dancing with the Stars, and Marriage Bootcamp: Family Edition. She is now a business owner, with a company called Home Run Productions, LLC. The studio apparently sells adult entertainment tapes. Overall, she and Hank do a lot of their work together these days but Kendra is paid more and has been paid more likely since 2005.
Elisha Cuthbert (married to Dion Phaneuf)
Dion Phaneuf is a professional hockey player currently playing a defensemen role for NHL team the Los Angeles Kings. He has previously played for other NHL teams in the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames. He was either Captain or Alternate Captain on each of those teams. Despite playing on the defensive side, Phaneuf has done well at scoring goals. He currently has around 100 goals scored in the NHL and nearly 300 assists. He is a three-time NHL All-Star and won the gold medal for Team Canada at the Men's Hockey Championship in 2007. While he has had an illustrious career, so has his wife.
Dion is married to actress Elisha Cuthbert. She is most known for her role on the FOX series 24 where she played Kim Bauer from 2001 to 2010. She has also appeared in movies like The Girl Next Door, Captivity, Old School, and Love Actually. She would go on to take part in a main role for the series Happy Endings from 2011-2013. She now appears on Netflix's The Ranch, alongside Ashton Kutcher. Elisha is considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, which typically keeps her employed. The Kardashian family might very well be the First Family of Reality Television. Kim Kardashian started it all when an "adult tape" of sorts leaked to the public. We later found her mother Kris leaked it, like a good mother. We were then introduced to Kim's family, which included Kris and then husband Bruce Jenner as well as step-brother Brodie Jenner. Of course, her sisters are in the main register of stars with the shows. Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall, Kylie, and brother Rob. The sisters were in multiple spin-off reality shows outside Keeping up with the Kardashians, which is still going and in its 14th season.
Shows like Kourtney and Kim take New York, Kourtney and Khloe take Miami, Khloe & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloe take The Hamptons, and Kocktails with Khloe all came out of this show. Khloe loves her athletes. She has dated Derrick Ward of the NY Jets, Retired NBA Star Rick Fox, Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Dodger Matt Kemp, LA Laker Lamar Odom(married and divorced), and most recently Houston Rocket star James Harden. Her sisters were not far behind though. As Kim has married and divorced Kris Humphries, dated USC and New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush, and dated Cowboys WR Miles Austin. Julianne Hough (married to Brooks Laich)
Brooks Laich is a professional hockey player, currently playing for the Los Angeles Kings. Though retirement may be on the horizon for Laich, he has been playing in the NHL since 2003, proving he has been able to be a star in the sport. As a forward, he has scored around 100 goals in the NHL. His best season was likely in the 2009-2010 season with the Washington Capitals where he was able to score 25 goals and earn 34 assists. Though he has managed to play for a longtime now, he would not be considered an elite player these days. While Brooks is still getting it done enough to keep a job, he has never truly been a star so he has never earned real star money in the NHL.
Meanwhile, his wife is very recognizable and highly successful. Laich is married to Julianne Hough. She along with her brother Derek Hough first came to fame as dancers on the TV show Dancing with the Stars. The show became wildly popular, and Julianne as a beautiful and tremendous dancer would become one of the top stars of the show. Due to her dancing work, she was nominated for a few Emmy Awards and would win one of them.
As a great dancer who could also sing, she would get involved in several movies. She was one of the stars in the remake of Footloose and would take on the role of Sandy in the Grease: Live television special. She was also part of major movie productions Burlesque and Rock of Ages. She is also known for her role in movies Safe Haven and Dirty Grandpa. In 2014 she came back to DWTS as a judge, and has been there since. Julianne not only makes more than her husband now, but is likely going to continue making a lot for years. At only 29, and amazingly skilled, she's a can't miss prospect that studios love.
Hilary Duff (ex-wife of Mike Comrie)
Mike Comrie is a former professional hockey player who played with numerous NHL teams in his 13-year NHL career. Hockey players are like football players in that careers are usually not as long as they would like. The best manage to stay around for a long time, and making it a decade is a clear win. So when Comrie lasted past that, clearly things were great. Comrie played at the Centre position and managed to score around 100 goals in his NHL career, which is pretty good for any player to claim. Though he was part of some great teams, Comrie never stood out as one of the best in the league. This likely made his NHL career one that lacked the millions others brought in or bring in now.
Meanwhile he would get one of the greatest prizes of all: Hilary Duff. The two got together years back and would be married by 2010. Hilary managed to draw a lot of eyeballs a little over a year ago when paparazzi caught up with her looking amazing. Clearly Comrie screwed up big time. Duff is most known for her work on the Disney Channel on Lizzy McGuire where she played the title character. However, she would not only be known for this. She was part of both Cheaper by the Dozen movies, Agency Cody Banks, A Cinderella Story, Cadet Kelly, and the impressive Raise Your Voice. All of this in her early career. Ciara (married to Russell Wilson)
Russell Wilson is certainly doing well for himself as the star quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks. He has been an MVP candidate and one of the top players in the league for numerous seasons. He has been to two Super Bowls, winning one of them. When you talk about successful football stars, Wilson is near the top. However, he has a long time left to play and that could include more hardware for his trophy room. His recent contract extension allowed his biggest deal to come out, in a 4-year $87 million deal. It would be crazy to assume anyone's wife could combat that. However, Wilson married Ciara.
Ciara is a famous American singer who has been active since the early 2000's in the world of music. She has been part of pop, hip-hop, rap, R&B, and dance music through her career. Ciara has sold over 20 million records and is known worldwide for her work in the music industry. Wilson now makes more per year due to the contract extension, but before he got the big payday his wife was crushing him economically. Ciara is still one of the top singers in the country and she's an award winner as well.

Mike Fisher is a professional hockey player. Yeah, apparently celebrity women love hockey guys. Fisher is currently a Centre for the Nashville Predators, where he's been since 2010. Unlike some of the other hockey players on this list, Fisher has been one of the top at his position in the NHL. He has a little over 200 goals in the NHL, with around 300 assists. Due to his age, it was unknown if the Predators would bring Fisher back for another season. They're doing well with younger players, so it made sense to cut him. However, he would manage to get a one-year extension for $1 million.
We currently value Mike Fisher at a net-worth of $30 million, this is due to his career earnings, and potential. However, we and everyone else value his wife much much higher. Fisher is married to the beautiful Carrie Underwood, who has been destroying the music industry for the last decade. She has more than 65 million records sold worldwide, putting her on a list of some of music's elite. Her award history is massive, we're serious about that as well.

Her husband has no chance of catching up, and never really did.
Victoria Beckham (married to David Beckham)
David Beckham is one of the most popular professional soccer players in history. He was most known for his impressive abilities while playing for English Premier League teams. He was able to win 6 Premier League Titles, 2 FA Cups, and a UEFA Champions League Title while playing for Manchester United. He would move to La Liga for a few seasons, playing with Real Madrid where he would win the La Liga Title his final year there. Though it was not until he moved to the United States that Beckham truly became the global star he is today.
He would sign with MLS team the Los Angeles Galaxy, where his appearance richly helped the league. He would lead the team to 2 MLS Cup wins. Economically, he became a massive name.
