Given that the adult entertainment business is so massive (bigger than the entire GDP of many nations), maybe it's time that the stigma go away. After all, the ladies featured in these videos generally make decent money (despite the extremely short careers that many of them experience), and while some may object to the content, the market is there, it loves the product and neither one is going anywhere.

My logic may be taking a bit of a stretch here, but adult entertainment really isn't that different from the world of sports. The differences are obvious, but at the end of the day both sports and "the entertainment" include fit individuals, "exercising" for the entertainment of others. Both industries pay fairly well, and at the end of the day, the really big paychecks are going to the team/studio owners, not the performers themselves.

While some athletes use performance enhancing drugs and questionable training techniques, some adult starlets get surgical enhancements. Of course, PEDs result in bans and fines, while surgical mods usually lead to more fans. The similarities and parallels are there between the two businesses, and given that they both include fit, usually attractive individuals with tons of energy, it is not surprising that athletes and adult starlets sometimes shack up. Here are twenty-one athletes you didn't know shacked up, or were rumored to have shacked up, with adult stars.

21. Jeff Heuerman and Lisa Ann - Rumor

Unless you're a die-hard Denver Broncos fan or a follower of the Ohio State Buckeyes, you may not know who Jeff Heuerman is. A tight end, he was taken in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft, but due to a torn ACL, missed all of 2015. Back in 2014, after a convincing Buckeyes 66-0 win over Kent State, Heuerman Tweeted a picture of himself and legendary cougar Lisa Ann (you'll all know her well by the end of this list). While it is unknown exactly what happened between the two, the obvious rumors began to circulate among college football fans.

20. Nate Robinson and Samone Taylor - Rumor

A veteran of eight NBA teams, with his most memorable having been with the New York Knicks, 5'9 point guard Nate Robinson, now plays for the Hapoel Tel Aviv, in Israel. Back in 2010, they Tweeted back and forth for some time, and a few bloggers reported that Robinson was "wifey-ing" her. She shot these rumors down, but admitted she had liked him at one time. This has been widely accepted as something that is probably true, but we will likely never know for sure.

19. Yu Darvish and Kirara Asuka - Rumor

For the non-baseball fans out there, Yu Darvish is a talented Japanese-born pitcher with a knack for striking guys out (leading the American League in 2013). He plays for the Texas Rangers but missed 2015 with a torn ligament in his elbow. From 2007 until 2012, he was married to Saeko, a Japanese actress. They divorced in 2012, and shortly after the split he was rumored to have dated adult star Kirara Asuka.

18. Chuck Liddell and Jayden Jaymes - Rumor

Quite possibly the finest striker (can we at least agree on top ten?) the UFC has ever known, Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell spent a lot of time with breast-tacular star Jayden Jaymes a few years back after breaking off his engagement. They were spotted together a few times, and after some speculation about a possible relationship, she said she was spending time with him primarily for the publicity. We really hope she at least compensated him for his time. If not that's just adding insult to injury.

17. Hines Ward and Lisa Ann - Rumor

Hines Ward achieved something above celebrity status in Pittsburgh during his career for the Steelers. He holds team records in receiving yards, passes caught and receiving yards, and is widely considered a great guy off the field as well. In late 2008, after his divorce, Ward was spotted at a Christmas party hosted by, there she is again, Lisa Ann. The rumor spread quickly that the two had not only partied together, but also spent the night in each others company. This one is hard to confirm as Hines Ward is a classy guy and probably not the type to kiss and tell.

As Lisa Ann played the titular character in a parody of Sarah Palin's political career (Who's Nailin Paylin), at least one blogger suggested Hines was indeed "nailin' Palin".

16. Rashad Butler and Mya G

I'll save you a quick trip to Wikipedia or NFL.com. Rashad Butler, now retired, was a guard drafted in the third round of the 2006 draft by the Carolina Panthers. Undersized, he never made much of an impact and ultimately wound up floating around the league, mostly as a backup or practice squad member until 2013.

His girlfriend was Mya G. One thing they both had in common was a massive posterior; Butler because he's over 300 pounds and Mya because she worked in "films" and that was the niche in which she fell. Back in 2012 it was suggested that he was cheating on her, but the fate and current state of the relationship was unknown.

15. Marcus Jordan and Rachel Roxxx - Rumor

While he never went pro, Michael Jordan's youngest son Marcus, played a few years of college ball for the University of Central Florida (UCF). He ended up quitting the team in 2012. In May of that year, he sent a Tweet to adult star Rachel Roxxx: "too bad you wasnt n the chi this weekend, was ready for round 2, 1st black one huh? dm me back boo got lot more for u $$".

Nobody should need this explained to them. He later claimed it was a prank, but his denial made many people's BS alarms go haywire.

14. Justin Brent and Lisa Ann

In real life, much like on the filthy screen, it would seem that (with the notable exception of Hines Ward) Lisa Ann likes men younger than herself. You've probably never heard of Justin Brent. He's done nearly nothing else, other than Lisa Ann. He played wide receiver and for Notre Dame in 2014, but never touched the ball in a game.

In October of 2014, Brent and the most famous MILF on Earth met in a restaurant, and decided to go to a Knicks game together. Fast forward a couple of hours and she snapped a picture of the two of them in bed, looking fairly satisfied.

13. Rob Gronkowski and Bibi Jones (Britney Beth) - Rumor

The NFL's token frat boy has a spot on this list, after he and starlet Bibi Jones posed for pictures that featured a shirtless Gronk, and an at least partially naked Jones. The tight end had to apologize to dinosaur/Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and ultimately the two both claimed that nothing actually happened, and that they had met through Gronk's agent. Apparently he was later propositioned by a studio that would pay him his 2014 salary to appear in a video with her, but that offer stayed on the table.

12. Shinji Kagawa and Ameri Ichinose - Rumor

Japanese footballer (soccer player) Shinji Kagawa, a midfielder who plays for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, was known to be connected romantically to Ameri Ichinose a few years ago. She is one of the most renowned adult stars in Japan. The two never really addressed the rumors and in the last couple of years, Kagawa has been dating Margaret Natsuki; a television presenter from his native Japan.

11. Michael Del Zotto and Lisa Ann

Most of these stories have happy endings. Some have endings of which we are unsure, but this tale ends with one person looking pathetic and the other looking infuriated. Lisa Ann (this is number four) hooked up with Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Michael Del Zotto a few years back. Apparently ever since, he has been harassing her to find other young starlets for him to date. She eventually got fed up and announced on Twitter that she was not a dating service and desired no further association with Del Zotto.

10. Dwight Howard and Mary Carey - Rumor

While plenty of people know Dwight Howard as a star basketball player, many fans know him as a church-goer and an all around decent dude. Few know him as the guy who once whipped it out in a bathroom in front of an adult film star. The story goes that Howard was "friends" with AVN Hall of Famer Mary Carey several years ago, and at the time she was also seeing Chris Kirkpatrick of N'Sync.

To paraphrase her version of the story, he came over to Kirkpatrick's house one night as Carey was essentially leading both guys on (by her own admission). She pulled him into the nearest washroom to tell him to leave, at which point he dropped his pants. When asked about the incident years ago, she admitted that he was huge, and could probably play the role of male talent in her business.

9. Al Cowlings and Devon Shire

Former NFL linebacker Al Cowlings, the man we believe to be Al Cowlings, is probably best known for his part in that infamous Ford Bronco "chase" involving O.J. Simpson. In the early 1990s he dated Devon Shire (more on her later). Jennifer Peace (Devon Shire's real name) became somewhat active during the trial of Simpson, and spoke to police and prosecutors about what Cowlings had told her about the events surrounding the crime.

8. Scottie Upshall and Gina Lynn 

The second and last hockey player on our list is St Louis Blues forward Scottie Upshall, who fooled around with Gina Lynn when he was playing for the Philadelphia Flyers. In much the same fashion as the previous two athletes listed in this article, she cheated on her husband with Upshall, claiming she wanted to get it on. She never denied it, he never denied it, so it probably happened. Lynn's husband was the one who originally accused her and Upshall of canoodling behind his back. He also named Shane Victorio and Danny Briere at one point but later said that it was a joke.

7. Melky Cabrera and Mary Carey - Rumor

This is the last we'll hear from Mary Carey in this article. This entry, like the one involving Dwight Howard, depends completely on the starlet's word. It has been suggested that she makes these stories up to keep her name in the news. Carey has said that she and the Melk-man have slept together a few times and that he was great in bed. The funny thing is, he's never denied that these things happened, so we can only imagine it may be true. Good for him, I guess?

6. Tanard Jackson and Jemini

Tanard Jackson is one of those NFL safeties who shows signs of legitimate talent, but just can't seem to keep himself out of trouble. Drafted in 2007, he was in and out of the league constantly, dealing with multiple suspensions until most recently in 2014, when he was suspended indefinitely for violating the league's drug policy.

Several years ago, he knocked up "film" actress Jemini. They initially tried to stay together for the benefit of the little ankle-biter, but broke up. Back in 2012, when Jackson stopped paying child support, Jemini, known out of the business as Desarie Sanford, decided to get her bills paid the old fashioned way and was arrested for prostitution. This is not a feel-good story.

5. Barry Bonds and Devon Shire

Remember Devon Shire? Al Cowlings does. She also sunk her claws into Barry Bonds. One of the most prolific sluggers in the history of baseball (yeah, so he did a ton of steroids, who cares?), Bonds may have lost control of his "bat" back in the mid 1990s. He got smacked with a paternity suit by skin flick girl Devon Shire, who claimed that he had knocked her up during a three-day "encounter" in 1994.

4. Jennifer Capriati and Dale DaBone

One of the greatest tennis players of the 1990s and early 2000s, Jennifer Capriati's aggressive style won her three grand slam events. Off the court, she dated working stiff Dale DaBone. She retired from tennis in 2004, and after doing so, became a bitter mess. Many attribute this to depression, caused in part by a rough relationship. About six years ago, she was found incredibly high on prescription drugs and many considered this to have been a suicide attempt. Sources have said that Capriati took a handful of pills after hearing news that DaBone was planning to return to the "business".

Like I said earlier, there are a few happy endings, a couple of funny stories here, and a few that are just puzzling, but this is just upsetting. War Machine (Jon Koppenhaver) is now in prison, but used to fight in Bellator and had two fights in the UFC. He also had a brief career as an adult film actor. During this time he met Christy Mack, who was on the rise in the business, known for looking great, having an "I'll do ANYTHING" attitude and a unique look.

Fast forward to the August 2014; War Machine and Christy Mack's relationship was less than phenomenal, and he was highly unstable. He severely beat her, leaving her with broken bones, knocked out teeth, and internal organ damage.

2. Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson

The Huntington Beach Bad Boy, Tito Ortiz is known not only for being a UFC Hall of Fame inductee, but also the now ex-husband of the (arguably) most successful star in the history of the p**n industry; Jenna Jameson. They met back in 2006 and had kids in 2008. Their relationship became messy after 2010, when he was arrested following a domestic dispute. They officially broke up in 2014.

Tiger Woods' mistresses can be fairly accurately broken down into four categories: the cocktail waitresses, the models, the gullible dummies, and of course the professional fornicators. Three of the women with whom the once-greatest golfer on Earth cheated were involved in the "entertainment" business. Holly Sampson said that her night with Tiger was great and had no complaints.
