Celebrities are no different than you or I when it comes to being best friends. Some of Hollywood’s A-list stars are the best of pals. They raise their kid’s together, vacation together, take on projects and celebrate life’s milestones together.
However, some celebrity BFF’s share something other than just the normal ups and downs in life—they shared the same person. Well, more accurately they have dated the same person, not at the same time of course. Yes, it appears that the Hollywood dating pool is so small that the below five famous A-list friends have actually been romantic with the same person.
Cameron Diaz & Kate Hudson
Hollywood beauties Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson are close friends once again, but that wasn’t always the case thanks to each of them dating the other’s ex. In 2007, not long after Diaz and Justin Timberlake ended their four-year romance, Hudson began dating the singer. Fast forward to 2010 when Diaz starts dating baseball stud Alex Rodriguez, who was involved with Hudson just a year earlier in 2009. There were reports that the two one-time friends were now enemies. However, it didn’t take long for the ladies to patch things up. In 2013 Diaz referred to Hudson as one of her closest friends during an interview with Vanity Fair. Today, The Other Woman actress is happily married to Benji Madden, while Hudson has been dating Danny Fujikawa for over a year.

Lance Armstrong & Owen Wilson
Actor Owen Wilson and cyclist Lance Armstrong have always been bros, despite both men having been romantically involved with Sheryl Crow. Wilson dated the singer form 1999-2001. Two years after their breakup, Crow and Armstrong started dating. The couple even got engaged in 2005. However, they eventually went their separate ways in 2006. These days Crow is a single mom to son’s Wyatt and Levi. She recently opened up to People magazine about the challenges of finding romance when you have kids. Armstrong recently got engaged to longtime girlfriend Anna Hansen, with whom he has two kids. Wilson now has two sons of his own but remains very tight-lipped when it comes to his personal life.

Courteney Cox & Jennifer Aniston
Friends alum Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston became instant pals when they started filming the hit NBC show. They have remained besties ever since meeting in 1994. Their friendship has even survived them both dating rocker Adam Duritz. Aniston briefly dated the Counting Crows frontman briefly in 1995. The relationship was so short lived that Duritz admitted the two never slept together. Cox and Duritz were involved for a short time in 1997 after she appeared in the Counting Crows video "A Long December." Today Duritz remains a single man. Aniston is, of course, married to actor Justin Theroux and Cox is engaged to Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid.

Tony Romo & Chace Crawford
Best buds Tony Romo and Chace Crawford are now brother-in-laws, but before they became family, they each dated Carrie Underwood. In fact, the country singer went from dating Romo, right to dating Crawford. Although her relationship with the Dallas Cowboy football player was somewhat serious, the American Idol alum has called her romance with Crawford a publicity stunt. Neither of the relationships lasted more than a few months. Today, Underwood is happily married to hockey player Mike Fisher. Romo is married to Crawford’s sister Candice. The couple has two sons. The Gossip Girl alum was last linked to actress Rebecca Rittenhouse, with whom he starred in the short-lived ABC show Blood & Oil.

Twilight stars Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene became fast friends while filming the blockbusters movies. They remain as close as ever despite having a similar interest in the same man. Both ladies have been linked to hunky actor Ryan Phillippe. Greene dated him in 2013, while Reed was reportedly involved with him in 2007.
