There are a few things in life that maintain their value or even increases their value as they get older, and these things are wine, real estate, and money. While we're not certain of his wine collection, we are aware that Paul McCartney's wealth goes as far back as his real estate purchases. He's got old money! And lots of it! According to Celebrity Net Worth, the famous Beatles band musician has amassed a whopping $1.2 billion throughout both his time with the Beatles and in his professional career, making him one of the most successful music composers and performers of all time.

Personally, with the money he has earned from all those years of touring and earning royalty checks, he is easily worth hundreds of millions. However, with his massive real estate portfolio factored in, he has now reached billionaire status. Here is a peek at all the lavish houses owned by Paul McCartney.

The Manhattan Penthouse

The only other person who can be matched with Paul McCartney in terms of real estate and property worth is The Shining's very own Jack Nicholson, who has an extensive array of properties sprawled out in places such as Aspen, Colorado, Hawaii, and Beverly Hills. One of his grandest purchases was the $15.5 million triplex penthouse in Manhattan which he snagged with his wife, Nancy Shevell, in 2015. Located directly across from Central Park on the notoriously classy Fifth Avenue's Museum Mile in New York City, the three-story penthouse boasts roughly 3,500 square feet which includes four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

According to Dirt.com, the building sports an all-glass, modern exterior, and the unit's interior has maintained a 1960s aesthetic with a total of 10 rooms. The L-shaped foyer and gallery are embellished with white marble floors, double-height ceilings, mirrored walls, and a floating marble staircase. Other amazing features include 30-foot wide floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room that provides a scenic view of the Central Park reservoir along with a wrap-around terrace that spans the 40-foot width of the structure. However, for as epic as this building sounds, The Beatles superstar are listing it for a major loss at just $8.5 million, a mighty plummet from its buying price.

McCartney Bought Courtney Love's Mansion

McCartney's style and taste for the high life have been prevalent for decades. Before his New York City penthouse purchase in 2015, McCartney and his late wife, Linda Louise McCartney, purchased the punk rocker and actress' Hollywood Hills home for $4 million in 2001. The French Country-style home was perched on almost two acres of property and, according to the Los Angeles Times, the billion-dollar musician only bought the estate because he was tired of paying for hotel rooms with his wife in L.A.

However, the house has some history behind it, as it was first owned by the television personality and Hollywood actress, Ellen DeGeneres, before Love bought it in 1997. After a few years, Love put the mansion on the market after deciding to spend more time in New York, where she subsequently purchased a $2.8 million loft.

The 4,700 square foot, four-bedroom home is as experienced and pricey as its owner. Built in 1938, its refurbished finish features a stretch of gated driveway and stone walls including strong, mature trees and a beautiful swimming pool. Perched on 4.25 acres of land is the main house which spans 16,400 square feet as well as two guest houses, each over 5,000 square feet. It's unclear how many years he spent with his wife in the Beverly Hills home, but Courtney Love's mansion was definitely something money could buy.

Paul's Modest East Hampton Home

Aside from his money being able to figuratively buy "Love's" mansion in Courtney Love's massive estate, there are things that love can lead one to buy that aren't super-extravagant, but mean a great deal anyway. This is exactly what lead McCartney to purchase a modest property in the hamlet of Amagansett in the town of East Hampton. Unlike the instances where love has led to bitter divorces and property splits, such as with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Paul McCartney's $495,000 purchase was determined by his love for his late wife, Linda, who passed away in 1998. According to Good City Living, not only did McCartney buy the small mansion, but he also bought the 22 acres surrounding it!

After the passing of Linda, the Can't Buy Me Love musician attempted to re-ignite the spark of love by marrying Heather Mills four years later. At the request of his new wife who did not want to share the same home as his former wife, McCarthy purchased another home on a small cul-de-sac near his former property. The contemporary home spanned 2,300 square feet and features a cozy kitchen, three bedrooms, an entertainment center with a wine cellar, and a pool. Taken from Curbed Hamptons, the property was put on the market for $1.725 million in 2015 after McCartney's marriage to Mills ended in divorce in 2008.

Despite being 79-years old, McCartney still has the ability to rock the crowd with his timeless tunes. For example, just around five years ago he was touring the world with huge names like Jay Z, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez, grossing $4 million per city! He has maintained his musical genius, as well as his sumptuous net worth and property ensemble.
