Flo Rida and Alexis Adam went through a terrifying ordeal when their 6-year-old son, Zohar, fell from a 5th story window in March. Although the child miraculously survived, Alexis is now suing her landlord in hopes of securing a settlement in the millions.

The mother-of-one is arguing that the New Jersey building in which she rents is responsible for her son’s near-fatal accident and should thus pay up. Specifically, Alexis claims that “incorrect sized guards” were placed on the windows, which caused them to open easily, causing her son's accident. She’s naming both a construction company and window installation company as co-defendants.

"As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces,” Alexis said in a statement, released in March. “I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved in failing to take necessary safety measures.”

Interestingly, Flo Rida is not involved in the case. In fact, Alexis has previously claimed the rapper has yet to meet his son. Earlier this year, Flo and Alexis were facing each other in court over child support.

The rapper was previously ordered cover 100% of Zohar's medical bills, education, and child support. But after Flo secured an $82.5 million settlement in a lawsuit related to an energy drink, Alexis requested their child support arrangement be revisited. In her filing, Alexis noted that their sons suffers from special needs. He’s autistic and also grapples with the rare condition of hydrocephalus.

Eventually, a court determined that Flo must make child support payments totalling $500,000 a year for their son.

This includes $14,000 per month in base child support in addition to over $2,200 per month for health insurance. An additional account of $300,000 was also to be established for Zohar's well-being. Flo was further has been instructed to make a payment of $188,000 to cover Zohar's educational and other associated expenses.

Flo Rida has a net worth of $30 million, however, he’s yet to comment on Alexis’ ongoing lawsuit over their son’s near-fatal fall.
