BASE jumper Eric Dossantos recently released a video of a high speed wingsuit crash that left him with several broken bones, but luckily alive.
According to Mashable, Dossantos stated in an interview that "everything was going pretty well in the jump, and it wasn't until just before impact that he noticed a problem."
The harrowing video shows Dossantos flying in his wingsuit above Chamonix, France back in September. The BASE jumper misjudged the height of a tree and clipped the top of it as he was passing over at 90 miles per hour. The hit sent Dossantos hurtling towards the ground. It was three hours before he was rescued by trail workers.
"It wasn’t until about the last five seconds that I felt the trees below me getting closer than I expected or wanted. Everything before that felt flyable to me."
Dossantos posed to Facebook that he was lucky to survive the crash.
A GoFundMe page was set up by his friends to help pay off his medical bills. The campaign details the extent of Dossantos' injuries which include a scapula fracture, left neck abrasion, clavicle fracture, three left side rib fractures, head trauma and multiple lacerations.
