Actor, comedian, and self-help author Steve Harvey began his career working in the world of comedy, performing in Comedy Clubs around the United States. Along with hosting Its Showtime At Apollo for seven years, Harvey continued performing comedy gigs on tour. It wasn’t until he began hosting the game show Family Feud in 2010 that the host became a recognized figure in every home. His viral videos and reactions on social media have earned him a lot of recognition. Throughout his career, Steve Harvey has amassed a $200 million fortune through his shows, published books, and business endeavors. He likes to spend his money buying real estate properties around the country and owning luxury cars such as Rolls Royce and Bentley.

His recent property purchase is a beautiful home in Atlanta that came with a $15 million price tag. Overlooking the river and surrounded by shrubbery, the mansion is truly exceptional. Let’s take a look inside Steve Harvey’s Atlanta home.

From One Charming Actor To Another

The Atlanta mansion was previously owned by actor and screenwriter Tyler Perry who purchased the property in 2009 for $9 million, as stated by Buckhead. Perry has several properties in Wyoming, Texas, and The Bahamas; however, he prefers to work in Georgia, where his film studio is located. After spending millions of dollars developing and redesigning the home, Perry sold it to televangelist David Turner for $17.5 million, who used the house for his Christian TV Network shows.

Four years later, Turner listed the house on Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s, which Steve Harvey then purchased. While there were speculations raised when security guards were appointed for the property, it was later announced that the comedy actor had claimed the land as his own. The sale of 2016 for $17.5 million and the 2020 sale of $15 million remains the highest sale record in the history of Atlanta.

Spread on a 17-acre land that offers excellent views of the Chattahoochee River, the Atlanta home is the biggest property in the Paces Ferry Community in Buckhead, Atlanta. The house has ample space to host a gathering of a hundred people at once.

Inspired By French Royalty

When Perry designed the home from scratch, he took inspiration from the Palace of Versailles located in France. According to Dirt, the 34,688 sq. ft. home features seven bedrooms and nine and a half bathrooms. The mansion comes with a myriad of rooms and amenities, starting with stately formal rooms. It has a two-story parking garage, well-equipped gym, spa, two-story library, hobby house, an underground ballroom with a catering kitchen, and a resistance indoor swimming pool.

The eyes are drawn to the flowing dual staircase at the entrance foyer when stepping inside the house. The kitchen has two marble islands and ample cooking space to use it to the fullest. Steve Harvey’s home also has a walk-in wine cellar with a built-in bar. The Master Suite offers stunning views of the Atlanta greenery and features a large walk-in closet adjoining the room.

Most of the money spent on building the home was used to develop the beautiful outdoors. The estate is surrounded by formal and informal gardens covered by lush trees, plants, and topiary shrubs. The home has a 70,000-gallon infinity pool with a jacuzzi and a large terrace, giving a resort-like feel. Interestingly, the bottom of the pool has a Versailles-style painting to give an authentic European feel, as noted by Top Real Estate Deals. The terraces have paths leading through twisted trees, plants, and flowers. The estate houses multiple outdoor seating areas near fountains where guests can enjoy their drinks and wind down, while the tennis court is located above the two-story car garage.

A Crown Jewel

Even with the luxury amenities mentioned above, no property is complete without an adjoining guest house for visitors. The mansion has a smaller version of the home for the guests to stay during their visits. For the staff and crew, there is a guardhouse and multiple caretaker’s suites. The advanced security system is enhanced with a strong generator that can power the entire estate in case of no electricity.

The luxury abode is one of the best properties owned by Harvey. He has several properties, including a 7,430 sq. ft. of home in Little Elm, Texas. As mentioned by Bounce Mojo, he also owns a mansion in Beverly Park, Los Angeles, a penthouse at the Trump International Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, and an additional home in Atlanta, Georgia. With the wide range of properties, the Atlanta mansion remains the most expensive purchase made by the talk-show host.

A home inspired by the interiors of a French palace, the Atlanta mansion owned by Steve Harvey is an exceptional piece of work. Tyler Perry put a lot of effort into making the home stand out in the city and gain iconic status. Steve Harvey is set to carry on the baton as he makes the place his prime residence. With his ever-growing popularity and high-paying salary as a talk-show host, Steve Harvey may be destined to make more expensive purchases in the future.
