Yes, Janet Jackson secretly married a billionaire. But how rich is he?

Janet tied the knot with Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana in a private ceremony last year (2012).

The couple had been dating for three years before they decided to tie the knot.

Wissam Al Mana is a rich business tycoon in Middle East, yet manages to keep a low profile. He runs his family’s multi-billion dollar empire, the Al Mana Retail business, with the help of his two brothers.  The company represents luxurious brands such as Giorgio Armani, Dior Homme , Alexander McQueen, Hermes, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs and Roberto Cavalli. Wissam also holds shares in some famous fashion brands and is a major stockholder at Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Adding to his wealth, Wissam also plans of opening a flagship A/X Exchange in a Qatar shopping mall.

Wissam is reportedly worth $1 billion and is a famous investor in automotive, oil, real estate, engineering, construction, distribution, retail, food services and the media businesses.

He grew up in London where he discovered his love for fashion. He started working in a multi-brand store at 14. His inspiration of getting into the business is his father whom he describes as “very humble and down to earth man, and was known for being very honest and trustworthy.”

Janet’s marriage with Wissam is her third. She married first husband James DeBarge in 1984 which only lasted for three months.  Her latest marriage is with the music video director René Elizondo , Jr. from 1991 to 1999.
