Kim Kardashian and Lauren Sanchez, who’s currently engaged to Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, once got into an argument over a Balenciaga dress at an auction. But instead of letting the gown come between them, the women decided to split the (very high) cost of the dress.
Speaking to Vogue in an interview published on Monday, November 13, Lauren recalled the moment that she fell in love with the same couture gown as Kim, which the Kering Foundation put up to auction at New York Fashion Week.
“I thought, you wear it once, I’ll wear it once, it’ll be so cute,” Lauren explained of why they decided to split the price tag.
However, the Kering Foundation offered to make two dresses for the ladies upon seeing how much they both loved the original gown. Kim and Lauren each paid $200,000 for their dresses. Lauren revealed they plan to fly to Paris together to do fittings for their gowns.

Offset Drops $500,000 On Birkin Bags To Spoil Cardi B On 31st Birthday
Offset has a reputation for surprising Cardi with elaborate gifts, and he didn't disappoint when it came to her 31st birthday celebration.Kim’s decision to invest a small fortune into a Balenciaga gown may come as a surprise, given that the reality star slammed the designed brand last year after it release a photo shoot seemingly referencing child abuse.
Prior to this, Kim had collaborated with Balenciaga various times over the years. But she said the incident made her rethink her relationship with the fashion house.
“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” Kim said in a statement via Twitter.
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period,” she went on. “I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this to never happen again.”

“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with — & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children,” Kim, who shares four children with her ex-husband Kanye West, concluded.
Last month, Kim displayed a show of support for Balenciaga by starring in a new campaign for a brand, nearly a year after the scandal. Given that she’s also willing to spend her own money on Balenciaga designs, it appears that Kim is okay being associated with the fashion house, despite its disapointing history.
