Louis Vuitton is a famous luxury brand that produces quite expensive items. The company started its existence in 1854, and since then, it has become a well-known luggage producer. Some of the goods it produces can be affordable, but not the ones from this article. So, here's the list of the most unapologetically expensive bags that the brand has ever made and sold.

The Tribute Patchwork Bag ($45,000)

This beg was released in 2007 by Marc Jacobs, who was the Creative Director of the brand. It was designed in honor of the 150th anniversary of the company. This bag is a mishmash of fifteen other bags from one of the brand's spring/summer collections. The bags were literally cut up and sewn back together to become one bag. Although it was called 'one of the most hideous bags' by critics, it was popular among celebrities - Rihanna and Beyoncé were crazy about it. So, what else made it special? There was a limited edition; only twenty-four units were made, which, obviously, were quickly sold out. Thus, those who want to get one can buy at auction, through second-hand retailers, or at a private sale.

Crocodile Lady Bag PM ($54,000)

This bag doesn't look unusual; however, its uniqueness is based on the material it's made from - an exotic crocodile leather. Released in 2014, this bag was exclusive in its kind, with no Louis Vuitton logos in its exterior design. Although it looks totally like the brand's Lady Bag PM, it's way more expensive, of course. As the bag wasn't mass-produced, it's one of the most exclusive and costly bags Louis Vuitton has ever produced.

Crocodile Skin City Steamer ($55,500)

It seems that the brand found a way to make big money. One more bag made from crocodile skin but of nude color. It's a limited edition, which means that only high-profile celebrities and fashion influencers could get one.

Louis Vuitton Coquille d’Oeuf Minaudiere ($101,000)

One more one-of-a-kind piece designed to honor the 150th anniversary of the brand. This small clutch is super expensive, not without reason. It took over six hundred hours to create a mosaic out of 12,500 tiny pieces of eggshells with embellished gold hardware detail across its front flap closure. Created by Arnault Luxury Group, it was crafted from black calfskin leather and cream-colored cotton lining. Obviously, this masterpiece isn't mass-produced.

The Kusama Pumpkin Minaudiere Jewel Bag ($133,000)

It's a limited-edition piece created in collaboration with a famous Japanese designer Yayoi Kusama in honor of the first show of the then Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere. The pumpkin-shaped clutch inspired by 1930s mini evening bags is covered with polka dots. It's made from black resin, some of the world's most refined metal, and pure gold. By the way, there were only five bags made, which made it even more attractive to get.

The Urban Satchel ($150,000)

Somehow like the Tribute Patchwork bag, this bag is way more controversial. The mix of recycled water bottles, chewing gum wrappers, cigarette packs, and high-quality Italian leather may seem questionable. But it was released in 2008 when such topics as urban lifestyle and sustainability were widely discussed. A famous photographer Annie Leibovitz commissioned it. Some sources claim it to be desirable by Victoria Beckham and Anna Wintour.

Unbelievably but some people have bought these bags. Some of them look like a real piece of art, some require attentive and thorough work, or some include simply costly items. But it doesn't mean that all products made by the brand are so expensive. In comparison with Dior or Chanel, Louis Vuitton is way more affordable.
