Matthew Lewis is an English stage, TV and film actor who was born in the year 1989. He is best known for playing the role of Neville Longbottom in the famous Harry Porter films.

Matthew was born in Leeds, England and is the son of Adrian and Lynda Lewis. He has two brothers, Chris and Anthony Lewis. He is a great fan of the rugby team Leeds, and is the Vice President of Leeds Rugby Foundation charity. In one interview, he had given an explanation for his attachment for the number 11. He bagged the Harry Porter role when he was 11 years old, and he also has a tattoo of the number 11 on his right hand.

He has gained all the recognition for the various films and TV shows in which he has acted. Matthew’s acting journey started off at quite an early age when he was just 5 years old. He also acted in small TV projects including the show “Some Kind of Life”. The role which made him a familiar face and a favourite has been Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series. During the shooting of Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, his eardrum was accidently ruptured when his co-star stuck her wand in his ears.

JK Rowling had mentioned Lewis’s name as one of the seven cast members of Harry Porter. Matthew has also acted in the television show “The Syndicate” and had appeared in the music video named “Filth”. He made his first stage presence in Agatha Christie’s play Verdict.
