Paul Kariya is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player with an estimated net worth of $62 million.
Paul Kariya started his career when he joined the British Columbia Junior Hockey League Junior A's Penticton Panthers. He recorded 45 goals and 112 points from the 54 games he appeared in during the first season. During his stint with the team, he won the Canadian Junior A Player of the Year in 1992, Bruce Allison Memorial Trophy in 1991, Vern Dye Memorial Trophy in 1991 and 1992.
He moved to the National Collegiate Athletics Association Hockey East's Maine Black Bears during the 1992-1993 season. Kariya finished the season participating in 12 games with eight goals and 24 points. He entered the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 and was chosen as the 4th overall pick by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
During Kariya's stint with the Ducks, he received the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 1996 and 1997. After his succesful stay with the team, he became an unrestricted free agent and transferred to Colorado Avalanche.
Other teams that he played with include Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues. Kariya announced his retirement on June 29, 2011.
