It seems that love for Hugh Hefner goes beyond friends and family, as even former Playboy Mansion employees are planning their own special tribute to the late media mogul.
Two of Hefner’s former butlers created a Facebook event group to plan out a reunion party for current and former Playboy Mansion staff and to pay their own personal respects to the legend that passed away last Wednesday.
Employees, Playmates, as well as Hefner’s family, are all invited to the soiree.
However, it will not be held at the Playboy Mansion, and instead, will take place at another location in Los Angeles.
Many of the former staff were featured in the reality TV program about life in the Mansion, The Girls Next Door. The series focused on the inner workings of the Playboy Mansion, as well as the complex and often heated relationship between Hefner’s live-in girlfriends.

Although the show was a runaway success for the first five seasons, after season five many of Hefner’s girlfriends left the mansion, and the viewing audience was not keen on their replacements. According to books published by the former Bunnies, life in the Playboy Mansion wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
Hefner kept strict control over his girlfriend’s lives, barring them from having side boyfriends of their own, as well as keeping them from acquiring jobs outside the mansion. One former Bunny described the living situation to be that of an indentured slave, and one that is required to perform sexual acts for Hefner on an almost nightly basis.

While life for the Bunnies wasn’t as glamorous as it would appear, the Playboy Mansion staff created a very close bond, with some describing it as a family. Even though many were laid off two years ago as Playboy continued to downsize and streamline its operations, staff kept in touch via social media. Now they’ll come together again for one last time to pay respects to the man that was more than their employer for many years.
Meanwhile, planning has begun for one last party in honor of Hefner's life to be thrown at the Playboy Mansion.
