Sweet Sixteens are a strange right of passage that many rich people take part in. Don't get us wrong, we know that normal people throw Sweet Sixteen parties too, but those are usually just regular old birthday parties under a different name. We're talking about the really elaborate parties. The real Sweet Sixteens! You know, the kind that were made famous by that MTV show. These are the type of celebrations that are only available to the super rich and the super self-absorbed. Because, it's one thing to throw a massive party for your child on their 16th birthday, and it's another thing entirely to broadcast it to the world and throw your exceptional wealth at them. While we understand that not all celebrities insist on bragging and that many are asked to share their extravagant lifestyles with the world, we can't say for sure which celebrity falls into which group. Therefore, we'll just paint them all with the same brush. That normally works out for the best.

Our fascination with celebrity life is easy to explain. It gives us a quick way for people to escape the monotony of their own lives, maybe even giving the normies out there something to aim for. But that doesn't mean we won't comment on the over-the-top nature of something as ridiculous as a birthday party that costs seven figures. That is insanity. Well, the celebs on this list all have two things in common. They all love their kids and they all show their love by spending ludicrous sums of money on them. Diddy

Sean "Diddy" Combs was on season seven of My Super Sweet Sixteen with his step son, and it was crazy. But, that's not what we're here to talk about. We want to look at the sixteenth birthday that was thrown for his other son, Justin. Now, the party looked enormous, but the gift at the end of the night really caught everyone's attention. That's because this gift was a $360,000 Maybach. Aside from the obvious questions about the practicality of the present, Diddy was asked if it was "appropriate" to give his son, essentially asking if the kid would grow up entitled because of it. To that, Diddy responded, "I think it's appropriate to give my kids whatever I want to give my kids … I feel the way I raise my children, I don't have to explain to you or anyone else, 'cause nobody knows the way I raise my children."

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne may be most famous for his music, but he will always be remembered for his appearance on MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen. In season eight of that show, the rapper threw an absolutely stupid huge party for his daughter, Reginae Carter. In addition to having several famous guests show up, including Nicki Minaj, The Game, and Ludacris, Reginae also got two cars for her birthday. The first was from her father, a beautiful BMW SUV in red. The second car came from her mother. This one was a Ferrari GTO. Now, the optimists in us want to believe that these were thoughtful presents from two loving parents, but the skeptics think deep down that this might just have been an elaborate ploy to generate buzz for Reginae's music career. After all, she did perform her then-new single at the party and on television.

Shaquille O'Neal

If there's only one thing to take away from this list today, it's that Shaq gives good presents to his kids. When his son, Shareef, was turning 16, the former basketball star threw huge bash for the youngster. There were 400 guests, including Sean Combs, aka Diddy aka Puffy aka Pufflehuff. There was also a performance from Post Malone to cap the party off. Then came the presents and the envy of all 400 guests. Shareef was gifted two vehicles from his pops. The first was a Jeep, a regular brand-new Jeep. The second, a Lamborghini. Now, even though the Lambo made Shareef completely forget that he also got a Jeep, Shaq did say afterward that the Lambo was being withheld until the boy gets his high school grades up.

Dana White

With all the showboating and theatrics around these celebrities' kids' birthdays, we're actually a little surprised to see Dana White's name on the list. But he deserves to be here. When the UFC boss' son was turning 16, White went out and booked Kendrick Lamar, maybe the most in-demand rapper in the world. With 300 people invited into the Brooklyn Bowl in Vegas, White's son's birthday was surely the event of those kids' lifetime. Lamar performed a set for the crowd and then Dana made all the kids fought UFC-style to see if there was any new blood to be found. That last part is just a rumor, though.

Shaquille O'Neal x 2

Shaq really does give the best presents for his kids. We already discussed what happened for Shaq's son's birthday, so when it came time for his daughter's birthday, Shaq and Shaunie O'Neal had to go all out once again. They wouldn’t want to be accused of playing favorites. Well, despite spending a fortune on both their children, one child may have drawn the bigger straw. You be the judge of who got the best party. You know what Shareef got. Here's what Mimi got. Let's start with vehicles. Mimi only got one. The end.

No, there's more to it than that. Even though their daughter only got one car like a casual, it was a Mercedes G-Wagon, so it was a pretty great gift. She also got an awesome party, one that was said to cost almost $1 million in total. For the evening, the party took over the W Hotel rooftop in Hollywood. The also had YG swing by to perform a set and gave out fancy swag bags for all the guests.

Floyd Mayweather

When boxing legend Floyd Mayweather's daughter was turning 16, he put on a grand spectacle for the world to look up at in awe. He called in performers Drake and Future to put on shows, and the posse partied at the Mirage Hotel. There was a BBQ earlier in the afternoon with some special guests as well, including Fat Joe, and there was even a bouncy castle. It's unclear if Fat Joe's appearance and the bouncy castle are related. At the end of the night, when asked about the party, Mayweather seemed only interested in talking about the dollar figure attached to the evening, saying it was "over seven figures." Sounds like it was a fun time.

T.I.

After the drama unfolded between T.I. and his estranged wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, on T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, it's possible that the best gift that their child, Deyjah, got on her 16th birthday was a reunion of sorts. While the party itself was pretty amazing-looking, it doesn't quite compare to the party thrown for their other daughter, Zonnique, in 2012. For her, the parents threw a celebrity-riddled bash and gave the young woman a Cayenne Porsche at the end of the night. Zonnique also got two little puppies, so what's up, mom and dad? Forget about the Porsche. Where are Deyjah's puppy dogs?

Birdman

Birdman isn't about to be outdone by Lil Wayne. Well, he did get outdone, but he at least put up a fight. After Weezy's monetary display of affection for his daughter, Birdman decided to throw an equally extravagant 16th birthday party for his own daughter. This party also had celebs, but where it fell short was that Birdman's daughter, Bria, only got one car. Sure, the party was adorable and Parisian-themed. That all looked great. But the single Mercedes G-Wagon is not as nice as the two cars that Reginae Carter got. That's just science, folks. Weezy wins this round.

Kris Jenner

It seems that every birthday, no matter how rich the Kardashian and Jenner kids are on their own, they get a new vehicle given to them. At a certain point, all these cars have to become a nuisance. Like, thanks mom, now we need a new garage. We're not sure when this new car tradition started, but there are pics of a young Kim getting a car on her birthday, so it's been going on for a while. The tradition is set.

So, when Kendall Jenner was turning 16, she, of course, got a new car as well. According to reports, Kendall was against Kris throwing her a massive party. Now, if you've seen pictures from the event, the party was massive either way, but Kris wanted something crazy done in the Bahamas, apparently. Instead, Kendall had a big party in LA and was given a brand new Range Rover. This party is noticeable because Kim had just broken things off with Kris Humphries, Bruce Jenner was still Bruce, Lamar Odom was there and somehow sober, and Scott Disick was there looking like Patrick Bateman. But that's just how that guy looks. The photos from this party should be in a time capsule for future generations to see.

Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder may not use his eyes in the same way as most people, but he can still see. He can see what the kids want. He is dialed in to what they're after, and he's rich enough to make it happen. What the kids these days want, apparently, is candy that looks like marijuana. Seriously. While your kids may not like this strange treat, the kids who attended Stevie Wonder's son's 16th birthday party sure liked them. They all got to pretend to be drug dealers for the night without going to jail. Incredible. They also enjoyed the performance by Travis Scott at the Belasco Theater. In terms of gifts for the Wonder child, Mr. Wonder Sr. gave him a $150,000 Mercedes.

Yo Gotti

If you haven't had your ears to the streets, you might not be all that familiar with rapper Yo Gotti. This is a guy who makes a big show about spending money, so when his daughter was turning 16, Yo Gotti bought her a Mercedes SUV and made sure that the world knew about it. The strangest part about this purchase is that the little girl didn’t even drive. She had yet to get her license. That's not the worst type of motivation a young kid could have to get their license, though. Not that we see the bad in everyone, but it is interesting that Yo Gotti was releasing his debut album right at this time as well. We have a sneaking suspicion that he was after some publicity while also making his daughter happy. Two birds with one expensive stone.

Dwyane Wade

NBA baller Dwyane Wade may have the strangest spelling of all Dwaynes on planet Earth, but the man knows how to give a gift to a 16-year-old. When his son, Zaire, was turning 16, Wade went to the dealership and picked out a fancy white Audi SUV. He then took to Snapchat to document and send out to the world for the likes. While in the car, Wade told his followers, "I'm sitting in Zaire's car right now. I flew in. He don't know I'm here. I got the balloons behind me. I'm going to let this [window] up and the balloons are going to come out of the car. We open the door and he's going to see pops in the car. I'm so excited for him. Get his brand new car." You're a star, Dwyane.

Tish And Billy Ray Cyrus

Even though Noah Cyrus' 16th birthday was not nearly as crazy and over-the-top as many of the other entries on this list, we included it because it looked awesome. Thrown by Noah's parents, the American Horror Story-themed party was basically a concert and the DJ was Noah's older sister, Brandi. The entire event was totally decked out in the amazing theme, but the prized piece of the evening was the incredibly massive cake that was pulled out, wowing the crowd. Miley was mysteriously absent.

Rick Ross

With Rick Ross, it's the thought that counts. Unfortunately, after Ross had booked Casa Casuarina for his daughter's 16th birthday, a feat that cost more than $100,000, he was rushed to the hospital right before the party. Ross was found unresponsive and had to stay in the cardiac unit, so the party needed to be postponed. While we don't know if or when the party will be going on, we are doubtful that the in-demand Casa Casuarina will be available for a rain check anytime soon. We also don't know if Ross got a refund. Again, it's the thought that counts. Just try telling Ross' daughter that.

Johnny Depp

Leave it to the daughter of Johnny Depp to throw a French Revolution-themed sweet sixteen party. Unlike most of the parties on this list, Depp's was quite small. More theme than theatrics. The intimate setting was likely held at Depp's home, but the décor was amazing. They had guillotines and several antique torture devices. The group was all decked out in their outfits and looked to have a blast taking photos in compromising positions. While it might seem more like a costume party compared to the riches of the other parties, Depp's intimate little gathering was probably every bit as memorable. She did not get a car, though. Well, at least there were no pictures of her getting a car.

LL Cool J

To be honest, the party that LL Cool J threw for his daughter's 16th birthday wasn't offensively overdone at all. It was actually really sweet (pun completely intended). For Samaria Smith's birthday, the Cool J family did throw a massive party, but the gifts weren't nearly as obscene as some others here. The party venue was catered by Fatburger, and the fashion-themed deserts looked like they were made of money...delicious money. Then there were custom hats and custom flip-flops made for all the guests, with the hats being air-brushed to order and the flip-flops made by Havaianas. The night was capped off with a performance by Diggy Simmons, and each guest was also given a swag bag filled with designer makeup and other fun little things.
