When I think about which characters were some of the best at picking up women, a few names immediately came to mind. The more I thought about it, the more I realized the overall theme of all of the men on this list. The theme of confidence, for no matter how often some of these men got rejected, they always came bouncing back.

It is not easy to be a "ladies' man." You are setting yourself up for some pretty harsh rejection and perhaps even a drink thrown in your face (though if you open your mouth, free drink! Or so says Barney Stinson). Although it must be a lot easier to be a ladies' man when you know in the script if the lady is going to say yes or no!

It may seem so easy to these guys, as they are always able to find the right words to say to impress the lady. While you may be out at the bar and forget your own name as you try and talk up the attractive girl wearing a Marvel T-Shirt. But do not despair! Know that with every great seducer, comes his own ability to handle rejection, get back up on that horse and draw inspiration from his trials and errors.

A lot of what helps make someone a great ladies' man is also in their ability to make someone laugh. If you can make someone feel comfortable and relaxed, you are one step closer to making a great first impression and not one that makes her want to call for backup.

Every guy will have a different technique, and every guy on this list has his own quirks to the character. Read, enjoy, draw some inspiration and learn about ten of the best men to ever try their hand at seduction on screen.

10. James Bond

When somebody thinks about James Bond, their first thought might go to his talent for disposing of enemies. Others may think of how he can slam back a martini with the best of them. Yet one thing that is also undeniable about Bond, is that he always gets the lady...and sometimes ladies. There is no denying his suave charm which seems to transcend decades and actors, and as a result, the reveal of the new Bond girl with every film is always an exciting event. Hard to say there is any other character whose potential future sleeping partner garners such a spectacle.

9. Chazz Michael Michaels

Now, I am a little bit biased. I have recently watched Blades of Glory, the film in which Chazz Michael Michaels appears. The film released in 2007 and stars Jon Heder and Will Ferrell. Chazz, Will's character, is a confessed sex addict and is no stranger to using some sex appeal on the ice rink. His claims range from a menage a trois to a romp with Michelle Kwan. While the character does not hook up with anyone on screen, Will's rendition of the character still helps make him one of the more memorable ladies' men in cinema. Plus, I mean with that long, thick, amazing hair that Will has, what woman would ever be able to resist him?

8. Austin Powers

Via movpins.com

Groovy, baby! Is there anyone else that has the...unique appeal that Austin Powers brings to the world of dating? For those uninformed, Austin Powers is a super spy, portrayed by Mike Myers, who appears in 3 films. Despite less then desirable teeth, Powers constantly finds a way to make the ladies giggle and then strikes with his seductive charm. Now, don’t get me wrong, Austin does not always succeed, but doggonit he tries! What else could you expect from a super spy? Given that a large appeal of Austin Powers is its parody of the spy genre (such as Bond), it shouldn't be surprising that Myers tries to land the girl as well as save the world.

7. Joey Tribbiani

Joey is not nearly the ladies' man that some of the characters on this list are. That could perhaps be because Friends is typically far less graphic than some of the other shows (and movies) on the list. Joey belongs on this list mainly for his iconic phrase "How you doin?" The pickup line worked its way into everyday jargon, and is said with the confidence that only Joey could muster. Similar to Barney Stinson, Joey's dating career slows down once he starts developing strong feelings for a close friend. That does not mean that in his prime Joey could not sling it with the best of them.

6. Steve Stifler

You couldn't honestly expect me to make this list and not include the Stif-Miester? Seann William Scott is one of my favorite actors in Hollywood, and his debut came playing the ladies' man Steve Stifler in the first American Pie. Stifler personifies the party-boy and his system runs on alcohol, a sure characteristic of several of our ladies' men. While he's often crude, Stiffler does not let rejection slow his stride and his 'charm' appears often throughout the series. Stifler's success is amplified by the inadequacy of some of his friends who struggle to talk to women, much less attempt anything that could even resemble a pickup line.

5. Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld was not a character that immediately jumped out to me when considering who was a big ladies' man. That being said, you have to consider that Seinfeld largely benefitted by the format of his show. With storylines often beginning and ending in the same episode, it has allowed for a barrage of attractive women throughout the series. With guest stars ranging from Amanda Peet to Terri Thatcher, Seinfeld has had no shortage of attractive women. Seinfeld also does not have a serious relationship for any significant duration of the show (outside of Elaine), which also helps increase his possibility for getting his freak on.

4. Glenn Quagmire

Quagmire has the distinction of being the only animated character to make it onto the list. His spot is confirmed not only due to the vast array of women that he has claimed to have slept with, but also the humor that the character brings to the show. Quagmire makes some of his most iconic moments around the idea of sleeping with, or having slept with, a woman. While the character can get a little bit tiring at times, there is still no doubting that his confidence towards women is also a monumental factor in why Quagmire gets to party on, on a regular basis.

3. Charlie Harper

I feel like Charlie Sheen himself could appear on his list. Unfortunately, Charlie Sheen is very real. His character Charlie Harper on the other hand, was no stranger to the bedroom. Denise Richards, Dominique Simon and Winona Ryder are just some of the ladies that made their way through Harper's bed. Charlie's lifestyle is influenced by the large amount of money that he seemed to spend on booze, and making sure that everyone was having a good (albeit drunken) time. Whether you liked the show or not, there is no doubting that Harper had the swagger to pull ladies with the absolute best of them.

2. Hank Moody

Via wayoftheplayer.com

It isn't enough to just sleep with a woman. You need to be able to seduce them, to entice them and win them over. This was the large appeal of Hank Moody. Moody is a sex addict, portrayed by David Duchovny, on the series Californication. Perhaps doing some method acting, Duchovny has admitted in the past to having battled sex addiction. Moody also benefits from not having his show be on basic cable, and as a result can show much more graphic sexual relations and drug sequences. It is one thing to imply that someone is a ladies' man, it's another to see it in action. Californication ended up running for 7 seasons, and amassing 84 episodes.

1. Barney Stinson

Via nevseoboi.com.ua

The biggest ladies' man to ever appear on screen may be Barney Stinson, and he has the numbers to back it up. It was in season 4 that Barney amassed his 200'th 'conquest'. An insane number to consider for any realistic person, but that feat is just why Barney fits on the list. Barney's claim to fame also includes a 'perfect week' in which he initiated contact with, and slept with, 7 girls in 7 days (without any of them rejecting him). Barney also gets consideration on the list for his vast array of 'plays' adding some humor to the pick-up game.
