Couples with age gaps aren't exactly something to write home about. Nowadays, more than ever, people are finding love with those from different generations. These relationships are becoming more mainstream and acceptable, and occur much more frequently due to global travel and the internet.

Hollywood always does things bigger and better than the rest of the world, of course, and age differences are... well, no different. While most not blink at a five year difference or even a modest ten, Hollywood royalty have been known to choose partners from two or even three generations away. Actors and actresses are legendary for their near-superhuman powers of battling the natural process of aging, of course, so some of the biggest age differences don't even appear particularly stark. Whether it's a mini difference or a huge one, these inter-generational couples all make seriously striking pairs on the red carpet.

14. Zac Effron and Michelle Rodriguez: 10 Years

Zac Efron was the little boy dancing genius many knew and loved in High School Musical. When Disney released him from their ties, he went on to forge a respectable career in Hollywood while shamelessly using any opportunity to take his top off.

The one-time Disney star caught the eye of tough action star Michelle Rodriguez, and the two made headlines when they started dating in July of 2014. The 10 year age gap - Zac is 26 and Michelle is 36 - was only one of the shocking things about this relationship. The fact that Rodriguez was linked to model Cara Delevingne when she was first spotted with Efron added extra drama.

The pair are no longer together; Rodriguez recently mentioned in an interview that she can't stay in a relationship for more than six months.

13. Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman: 12 Years

These two stars have a 12 year age difference. The then forty-two-year-old Megan Mullally met Nick Offerman, who was thirty, in 2000. Mullally is probably best known for her boozy and promiscuous character in TV comedy Will and Grace, so this particular cougar match seemed to suit the comic actress well.

When they first met, Mullally was at the height of her fame and Offerman was almost unknown. Now though, the two are both comic forces to be reckoned with - Offerman is best known for his role on wildly popular TV comedy Parks and Rec.

Despite the pretty significant age gap, the pair have been married for twelve years now and are still going strong.

12. Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi: 15 Years

Ellen and Portia are known for having a loving, long lasting relationship - Ellen regularly talks adoringly of her wife on her famous talk show. Many do not know, however, that the two have quite a large age difference.

They are 15 years apart, but that doesn't seem to matter in the slightest. The two, who married 2008, have undeniable chemistry and it appears the age difference - DeGeneres is 54 while de Rossi is 39 - is no impediment to a healthy relationship.

11. Olivier Sarkozy and Mary-Kate Olsen: 17 Years

Mary-Kate Olsen has been out of the spotlight for quite a while, but her relationship with a much older man - the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy - has stirred up quite a bit of controversy. The two look awkward in public - age isn't the only difference between the two, as Olsen is petite and her beau is much taller - but are apparently very into each other.

The two reportedly got married recently at a secret ceremony. There is a 17 year age gap between the two, though it looks like more. He is 47 while she is 28.

10. Bennett Miller and Ashley Olsen: 19 Years

Much like her sister, Mary-Kate, Ashley has also fallen for a much older man. The renowned movie director, 48 year old Bennett Miller, is 19 years older than Olsen.

This relationship follows Olsen's split from billionaire playboy David Schulte. Miller and Olsen have been seen frequently together and appear very close. Will MK be following her sister down the aisle with her older man some time soon?

9. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart: 22 Years

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart met at the 2002 Golden Globes and seemed to know right away that they wanted to be together. Ford, 70, and Flockhart, 48, had an instant connection that has led to a long and seemingly happy long term relationship.

When they first met, Flockhart spilled champagne on Ford, and that was the beginning of their relationship. They were married in 2010 and are still happily together; apparently not even noticing their significant age gap.

8. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard: 23 Years

Actor Johnny Depp and actress Amber Heard were engaged in March of 2014.

Depp was married to French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis when he met actress Heard in 2012, while filming The Rum Diaries.

The two have a 23 year age gap - and in this case, it certainly shows. Depp, 51, and Heard, 28, seemed to be very much in love prior to and following their engagement. However, there is reported cooling off between the pair, who may have postponed their marriage.

7. Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Bricklin: 30 Years

Susan Sarandon was in a relationship with Tim Robbins between 1988 and 1999, but following that breakup she found love with a much younger man.

Jonathan Bricklin, son of the automobile magnate Malcolm Bricklin, is 30 years younger than her. The two seem to be enjoying each other's company though, despite the age gap; they've been together since 2010.

6. Jeff Goldblum and Emilie Livingston: 30 Years

Another couple with 30 years difference between them is Jeff Goldblum and former Olympic gymnast Emilie Livingston. They were married recently in Los Angeles. Goldblum and Livingston just this week announced that they're expecting their first child.

5. Stephen Fry and Elliott Spencer: 30 Years

Comedian and writer Stephen Fry, who is 57, recently he announced he'll be marrying his boyfriend Elliott Spencer (27). The two have a huge age difference but are very much in love - when the news broke, Fry tweeted 'I’m very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!'

Despite being 30 years apart, Fry and Spencer are nothing but smiles after announcing their engagement. The two wore matching engagement rings after they made their announcement.

4. Woody Allen and Soon Yi Previn: 34 Years

Woody Allen shocked many after he began to date Soon Yi Previn: she was, of course, the adopted daughter of Allen's partner, Mia Farrow, and the two began an affair while Farrow and Allen were still together.

They have been called an awkward couple, and despite the undeniably uncomfortable star to their relationship the pair have been married for 15 years.

3. Clint Eastwood and Dina Ruiz: 35 Years

Eastwood, 84 and Ruiz, 49 were often named as one of those couples bucking the Hollywood divorce trend as they seemed to be in a life-long, happy relationship. The pair were married in 1996 and had a daughter, Morgan, who is now 17 years old. The met when Dina, a reporter, was interviewing Eastwood in 1992.

Now, however, the couple has unfortunately split and are going through a lengthy divorce struggle.

2. Dick Van Dyke and Arlene Silver: 46 Years

This age difference is certainly visible. Indeed, it looks like Silver could easily be Van Dyke's granddaughter. Actually, she could. With a 46 years age difference, the pair is anything but normal. Van Dyke has proven in the past that he is certainly one for long term relationships, so this one is most likely going to last too.

He was married to his first wife for 36 years, lived with his girlfriend Michelle Triola for 30 years after, and then married Silver.

1. James Woods and Kristen Bauguess: 46 Years

Just like the previous couple on this list, legendary American actor Woods, 67, and 21 year old Bauguess have a 46 year age difference. This isn't Woods' first relationship with a much younger woman either; he started dating Bauguess soon after splitting with his 26 year old girlfriend, Ashley Maddison.
