Auto racing has been a very big industry in Germany for many years now too. Germany boasts some of the most extensive race courses and tournament circuits. Germany is also home to the worlds largest race track, The Nurburgring.
The Nurburgring race track isn't just a race track, it is a whole motor sports complex. It is built around the village of Nurburgring Germany. This village is about 40 miles south of Cologne and about 70 miles north of Frankfurt. This race track is 12.8 miles long and has been called by many professional race car drivers, the most difficult race track in the world.
In the 70s and 80s, due to large demands by Formula 1 racers, the race track underwent a large remodel. This remodel took about many bumps, sudden jumps, and shaky ground. This made it much safer for the racers to accelerate to speeds over 100 miles per hour on this race track.
With some extreme crashes happening on this race track it became apparent that ambulances and fire trucks were not able to maneuver on this track in order to get to the crashed cars and injured drivers. In order to help the drivers flee from the scene of the accident, the track was outfitted with a rescue Porsche 911 Turbo. It is the job of the car to rush the crash victim to safety as quickly as possible.
