Adidas is suffering billion-dollar losses since cutting ties with Kanye West as well as damage to its reputation given their close connection to the controversial rapper. However, despite the conflict, there are rumors that Adidas is considering working with Ye again.

Khrome, a creative director and photographer known to frequently collaborate with Kanye, fuelled the rumors when he posted a photo of the rapper and referenced Adidas in the caption.

“Exclusive Photo,” Khrome captioned the picture. “Bless up Ye! The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much! James 5:6 @adidas thanks for doing the right thing. #adidas #yeezy #ye”

The photographer’s insinuation that Adidas is doing the “right thing” lead many of his followers to assume this was a hint that Adidas has reconsidered its partnership with Ye.

Many of the comments were excited. “Awesome news!” one person wrote.

However, some comments suggested that Adidas need to make a formal apology to Ye. “Is Adidas done the right thing tho? They did Ye dirty!! And now they want him back. This is good for Ye to know they need him. But they don’t care about Ye they care about their business!” one person wrote.

“As soon as Adidas & Balenciaga did Ye dirty. The Karma hit both of the brands hard! They need to beg Ye and apologise publicly! Although I’m sure Ye knows what’s he’s doing,” they continued.

So far, neither Kanye nor Adidas have commented on the speculation that they may be working together again.

Adidas recently admitted that it expects to see billons in losses in the coming year since it’ll no longer be producing Yeezy products. This has fuelled the rumors, with some fans thinking Adidas is trying to repair its relationship with Kanye for financial gain.

Earlier this month, Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden admitted they’re expecting a loss of $1.3 billion.

"[Kanye’s behavior had] significant adverse impact from not selling the existing stock ,” he explained, adding, "The numbers speak for themselves. We are currently not performing the way we should.”

“2023 will be a year of transition to set the base to again be a growing and profitable company,” the CEO continued. “We will put full focus on the consumer, our athletes, our retail partners and our adidas employees.”

Kanye is also rumored to be struggling financially. Not only did he lose his billionaire status after Adidas cancelled their collaboration, but he’s facing a variety of legal troubles. His Yeezy brand is struggling, too, with recent reports saying the brand was evicted from its headquarters over unpaid rent.

While Adidas and Kanye may stand to financially gain from working together again, the sportswear company could permanently ruin their reputation for being associated with Ye in light of his behavior the last year.
