Tom Cruise is seriously considering leaving the church of Scientology for good.

Cruise has been one of the most supportive members of the controversial sect since he joined in 1990, however, according to Unilad, that might all change. Cruise supposedly wants to mend his fractured relationship with his 11-year-old daughter Suri, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

A source explained the decision to Star magazine. "He has reached the breaking point, and something has to give. If he wants her back, he’ll have to walk away from the church, which has been a huge part of his life, to say the least. Leaving Scientology would be the toughest decision he’ll ever have to make! If Scientology declared open season on Tom, they could bury him, since they’ve probably got all sorts of dirt on him from his audit sessions. It’s an unspoken threat, but Tom has to be aware that the church would do everything in its power to keep him from leaving."

It has been reported in the past that the Cocktail star hasn't seen his daughter since the divorce in 2012, missing out on a huge chunk of her childhood. It was speculated at the time of Cruise's divorce from Holmes that it was largely down to the actor's obsession with the religion, and Holmes' fear that she could become distanced from her daughter because of it. It wouldn't be the first time it happened. Tom's adopted children with Nicole Kidman, Isabella, and Connor famously haven't spoken to their mother in years after Cruise retained custody in the split. Reports stated that Kidman was branded a "Suppressive Person" by the organization, which turned the youngsters against the actress.

Cruise came under fire recently for the revelation that Katie Holmes wasn't allowed to publicly date anyone for five years after their split. Holmes has recently been spotted out and about with long-term rumored beau, Jamie Foxx.
