Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are currently going through a divorce, but the parents-of-five were reportedly having financial issues before announcing their separation last year. Spelling has been upfront about her family’s struggles, including during the most recent episode of her podcast, when she admitted to no longer being able to afford payments on her four storage lockers containing family mementos.
“I have all my kids’ memories. I have everything from my 18-year marriage, everything until, I guess, a year ago when we had to escape the house with mold and everything was put into storage,” she said on the latest installment of her "Misspelling" podcast on Wednesday, April 11, directly from the confines of her four storage units, which house her "long history of stuff."
“But anyway, [I] didn’t have the money to pay for the units,” Spelling continued.

Tori Spelling Rents Home For $18,000/Month After Divorce Forced Her Into RV
Tori has moved her kids into an expensive rental after spending most of the summer living between an RV and motel. She elaborated on the protocol followed by storage companies when renters are unable to fulfill their payments, stating that the items are initially secured by the company for a specified period before being put up for auction. The 90210 actress admitted that was nearly going to happen to her after she stopped paying the rental fee. But Tori says she had help narrowly escaping that outcome.
“A very kind human stopped it from going up for auction. … I have friends helping me to get back into some of the units right now,” she admitted, noting that said, adding that iHeartRadio producer Amy Sugarman paid the fees so two of the storage units could be opened for Spelling to retrieve her belongings.

While Tori was able to open two of the units, the other two she had to leave behind, and the actress admits she regrets which ones she chose.
“[We] didn’t know what was in any of them. We can only do two right now because Amy helped me out with two,” she explained. “S–t, you guys. I don’t think this is anything that I actually need. … It’s all Dean’s stuff.”
“I am so sad right now. I just wanted to get my memorabilia and my kids’ stuff, and this is nothing that we need. $971 for f–king s–t. Oh, my God. Talk about getting screwed. Like, what the f–k?” she continued, noting that Dean had encouraged her to clean out the storage lockers a while ago. “He was right,” she noted.
It was recently reported that Tori’s net worth went from $1.5 million to $150,000 in a matter of years. The reality star has been living out of an RV and motel with her kids, while her estranged husband has moved in with his girlfriend. Tori filed for divorce earlier this year, though the pair separated in 2023.
